Relax lads its all good we will move Adel on and bring in a young hungry replacement? bring through Petrasso? or sign Doyle as a winger.
I know what's more likely, a 40 k a week league one player in the season FFP kicks in, you couldn't make it up.
You lost me here. Players "doing well" as Milan's Vice President is quoted as saying of Adel, while presumably down playing him in making a play at gettting him at discount, at his age and playing in his playmaker position in a top European Clubs, command transfer fees in the £20 million range. Letting Adel go for around the £1,4 million you mention would represent a very very poor return for QPR. Both He and Remy probbaly won't want to play for us next season, but we should be able to finance some other very good players by selling them for the right fees, not by unloading them as though they were a couple of our 30 + old League 1 rejects.
Obviously get as much as we can for him, but he's only worth what someone is prepared to pay. His record consists of 1 great season in the Championship with us, a couple of inconsistent (occasionally brilliant) seasons in the PL with us, and 9 good games for Milan. Plus some strange behavior, weight and training problems. He might be a world beater, he might not, he's definitely a gamble. Milan have 2 other playmakers already, I haven't heard of interest from any other clubs, they are in a strong negotiating position. I reckon £5-6m is a fair price. He might be a £20m player one day, but certainly isn't now. If we hold out for more and he doesn't go, and still doesn't play for us, then he's not an asset he's a liability. If he stays and plays that's another story. But my point was, if he's not going to play for us again (which I think is almost certain) let's end this circus and all get on with our lives. We only paid £1m for him, lets get that back, plus Spurs' cut and as much of what we have spent on wages as possible then we are the winners, because we have had the pleasure of seeing him play for us. And whatever we get for him isn't going to make a significant dent in £177m of debt.
It's very early days for that. Come the summer if he has continued to shine for Milan, some other very big teams may well be interested in him, and then his value could be much higher than what you are talking here.
Firstly these are two separate players so need to be look at separately. For those with short or selective memories have a look at Remy’s first interview, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Remy-makes-promise-future-QPR-relegated.html “‘I’m here for the moment and I don’t really want to think about relegation. If that time comes my agent and QPR will sit down and talk about that” Then in April 2013 when relegation is all but certain a spate of articles like this one: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...bid-QPR-striker-Loic-Remy-Premier-League.html All linking him with another Premier League club and all making reference to a relegation release clause, which fits in with his very first interview. He signed for us did as much if not more then we could have expected but it wasn’t enough. Time then for QPR to honour the agreements set out, but then the Rape allegations and court case which complicated this and meant that we didn’t receive the full cash as expected and he had to go on loan. I have no issue with this because the wider implications by refusing letting him leaving would be that we are a club that could be seen to not be trusted when making agreements. So to make clear the errors made by those mistakenly comparing letting Remy leave v Adel and also ‘Billionth QPR Fan’ asked the question on the recently closed down Adel thread, “those that want Adel back do we also want Remy back?” Well the answer is: we would like Remy in ideal world but because of previous agreements that predicated him signing for a club that looked doomed to relegation it was right to let him leave. Adel however is owned by us and was owed no such treatment. We set the price on what he is worth. If Milan can’t afford that price well that’s their problem. We should have taken this stance at the start of the season because we would in no way have been worse off than we are. I agreed with Oslo: So set a price, if not met then he is our player, whether that be in the Prem or the Championship. What happens after that is unknown but worth finiding out because the potential upside's are so great.
Damage's ADELOMETER has gone off again. I wonder how that device of his works? Is it like a pager that beeps in his pocket or does an alarm in his car go off or summat?
Its one of those vibrating beads that you have shoved up your arse i believe......only kidding PD, just couldnt resist !!
Adel probably won't play in England again, let alone for us. I remember he was glowing about the professional set up in Italy even before he kicked a ball. As much as I love watching Taarabt play, he'll only do so now for a team that he think matches his stature (skill-wise not frame) and that won't ever be us again. Cash in and don't let Milan haggle us down. Remy will want European football and won't be back. The only benefits we have are that they will knock at least 14M off the debt and we're already used to playing without them. Good luck to them both but they're part of our past now.
