They've had nothing to celebrate for decades and still just about sell out every game. They've also got one of the most popular clubs in the world across the park from them but their fans stay loyal. Everton are one of the few PL fanbases that should be respected, the fact they still sold 17,000 tickets for a nothing game in a competition they've already been knocked out of is pretty decent. We'd have been lucky to scape together 5,000 for that fixture.
"Everton hold the record for the most seasons in England's top tier (Division One/Premier League), at 114 seasons out of 118 as of 2016–17 (the club played in Division 2 in 1930–31 and from 1951–54)." Imagine how 'loyal' our fans would be given those stats. No Hull vermin, or armchair Reds, and Hull and Rovers reduced to Ionians and Hullensians status.
If you have a city rival it probably makes your supporters more loyal. Not that Everton is really on my radar anyway, others like Arsenal support annoy me more. Everton must have been a fairly well run club to have kept at that level.
I like Everton. Until this recent Chinese takeover in my memory they're a club that's always been run and succeeded on sound principles, who have proper fans and a proper stadium. What's not to like?
Agreed. Although Joseph Whitworth will be turning smoothly and securely in his grave. British Standard Whitworth works on an angle of 55 degrees so forms a theoretical isosceles triangle, not an equilateral one.
Also, had the triangle been right angled, the square of the hypotenuse would be equal the sum of the squares of the other two sides and would have no relevance whatsoever to any of the above.
i kind of sympathise, but i have to admit that i told my man-u supporting mate that rooney would never make a goal scorer and he did go on to become man u's leading goal scorer ever, so i was wrong there, though he has been useless for england in tournament finals.
