Spurs were quite clever in that they bought up parcels of land of a number of years through shelf companies owned by the club so they wouldn't have to p[ay extortionate rates, the other benefit was that they could play at Wembley during the final phase of construction.
Spurs also used the regeneration scheme to compulsory purchase land / properties which they still own .

Just looking at some of the pre-season tour video on MUTV and Rashford and Sancho are as thick as thieves. I wonder if it is a price worth paying to keep Sancho at the club if only to keep Rashford onside.......

We have had so many chances in the second half. Unbelievable that we haven’t been able to hit the net. Not sure why Zirkzee is not on with all the substitutions that the manager made.

Great entertaining game. Good defending too before the goal.

Our midfield is still not there. Most of the chances today were against the run of play from the deep. I think this is why we struggle against lower teams that are willing to sit back. I am not convinced we have a midfield to break down deep laying teams that play in the break.

Toe to toe with City, we had the better of them in the second half. No fear of them, no suggestion we might get tonked, all in all extremely positive and with the new signings in defence coming in, all the better. Really excited for the new season, I really fancy our chances this year (injuries permitting).

Looks very promising that de Ligt and Mazaraoui sign tomorrow.

AWB leaving to go to West Ham.

I'd say we're fine in midfield, we could afford to let McTominay go as well. Maybe bring Amrabat back at a push for numbers.

This perhaps frees up some dough to bring Toney in.

And then the proper stuff starts Friday.

The most noticeable thing from Saturday was that there wasn't a hint of fear from our players, never a hint that they might get a thrashing, never a moment when they didn't have each others backs, lots of movement, some decent pressing and a more composed system of playing out from the back.

De Ligt and Mazraoui both signed....
Happy with De ligt, we now have CBs pretty well covered.
Know nothing about Mazaraoul but am a bit confused why we have gone for RB when LB was more imprtant. By this i mean Dalot is a very competent RB and gets involved in forward play well too, Bessaka is (was) a great RB but **** going forward which to me is secondary.
I worry more about LB. Shaw is good enough but picking up a lot of injuries Malacia unfortunately just doesn't impress me at all and has just missed a full season with injury (not his fault i know).

I logged in here to complain Shaw needs to leave asap.

The guy is rarely fit. And to my surprise, got himself ready to play for England in a summer he should have used to get himself ready for the new season. Now he’s injured yet again. He’s an absolute liability!

Mazraoui looks pretty solid with both feet (of course YouTube videos :)). It looks like we have gone for his versatility to replace AWB. I think that’s a good move.

He'll probably play left back with Shaw injured. (I agree with your view BTW).

De Ligt also possible to start the first game, unless Maguire gets the nod if fully fit. Could well be a Maguire Martinez partnership to start off.
