I largely ignore social media. I put IF on anything which is conjecture. Only thing we know (?) is De Jong has said he wants to stay at Barca and the club are in a financial mess and need to raise money and get players off the wage bill to register new players. The rest is either conjecture or mostly bollox.
No, it's because you offered an alternative view to the unsubstantiated alleged rubbishing of United and 'statements'(there has never been one) saying he doesn't want to come to us.
I'm just saying I don't believe anything until it has actually happened.
Social media is a world of complete bollocks and guesswork, and too many actually believe what these people post.
I could go on Twitter myself, invent an MUFC or United moniker of some sort, then post a made up rumour.
Then someone will post it as gossip and the next thing you know, it's reposted as fact.

I'm not on twitter or anything but I do look at what Fabrizio Romano posts and only because he tends to only post as events unfold rather than speculating. So he's usually the first to break the news. But I'll admit last couple of days I've looked at his page and then clicked on other people posting and it is exactly as you've just desribed. Complete bollox usually taken off the back pages of the Sun and the Mirror or Talksport.

I was here parroting how there could be no negatives to having Ronaldo in the team. But with the year gone, it is evident that the team (as in many players) has regressed in his time here. Then add the debacle of this summer, surely we must objectively conclude that Ronaldo has been a net negative influence on the club since his jubilant arrival.
And if anyone wants ETH to truly succeed, I don’t think that pandering to Ronaldo’s ego fits the bill.

Besides, this is a general thread for team development. And as I’ve stated, he is a player with net negative effect on the team development and building this summer. Needless to say that we all spend so much time talking sht about players that we don’t even own in this thread and other bs Barca’s finances.

In hindsight I think we needed to go out and get 7/8 signings.
My previous thought was that we needed to address certain positions - namely CM, CB possibly two, and a forward.
I was thinking purely from a point of addressing weaknesses in the team as anyone would.
And the thing is, I still don't think that's wrong. In principle and on paper that should do for a start in Ten Hag's first season.
BUT having watched the first couple of games the problem is Ten Hag needs players/team who are 100% on board with his philosophy. And there are far too many who aren't.
Just to stress the point, I don't think it's only about addressing key positions, it's also about having a weight in numbers of Ten Hag's own players who will outnumber the negs in our squad. They at the moment are holding him and the team back.
I also believe the problems on the pitch and at the club won't shift to what's needed until this happens.

@Treble it’s the classic case of damaged goods, I think. It’s hard for me to understand the casual nature of our summer deals. It is beyond appealing that we “patiently” sat around chasing one fkin player. If there were ever a time to go out and make 5-7 signings early in the summer to draw a line on a new beginning, it would have been this season.

I suspect EtH agrees with all of this, but the opportunity simply wasn't there to out in one window and get the 'right players' - his favourite saying. perhaps he gor a few this time around which means that each successive window he will have an idea of who to bring in - and who to throw out. It will take three windows I reckon before he's up and running
