Yup! It certainly can’t be about league position at this point in time. Saving grace is that we now appear to be at an absolute rock bottom. With the bad apples out of the way, we should look to recreate a culture of self accountability to the team, and hard work that is visible for all to see. That is my expectation for next season.

interesting that the so called top six clubs occupied the top 6 places. We just managed to scrape in. With the shambles and chaos that engulfed the club this season we should have been out.

I truly hope that we are done with “big names”. I do not enjoy any part of it. Especially when it comes at the cost of insane salaries for men that have barely proven themselves.

completely agree that we just need to look forward to the new season. Like everyone here I am just hoping that we recruit players on the basis of suitability to the team rather than their high profiles and shirt sales. And whether they would make the team stronger rather than just potential. And it’s a shame we had to endure such an awful season. Apart from the relegation season, I can’t remember a worst one. We started with such high expectations and they were rapidly dashed with both managers.

I watched TenHaag’s press conference. He seems a level headed guy and he needs to be supported to bring the players he wants not those who fit the club’s image or finance dept. Also when he cracks down on the remaining players. I’ve had enough of prima Donnas and stories of dressing room unrest and cliques and humiliating underperformances to last me a lifetime.

I will never understand how we let Herrera go, the man lives for football and loved the club, all this on top of being a class player.

Smalling i understood at the time and thought we could improve on him. Look what we ended up with

Ibrah was always going to move on and i don't think we had much say in it, we were a top name club and league that he ticked off and succeeded in but i think the pace got at him a bit.

Not sure about Jose, he was working with the clown Woodward and probably wanted/needed a bit more control of things.

We can use hindsight to lament which players should have stayed. But overall, players come and go. What is harder to come by is a good manager, a winner, and someone that could get a reaction from his players - and we certainly had one in Mourinho.

However, most of us certainly wanted Mourinho gone by the winter if that year. Things felt very toxic at the time that there was no return. But what many of us didn’t appreciate at the time was how fkd Woodward was in presiding over the club affairs. In hindsight, the club should have backed the manager over the horrible egos in the team.

So many textbook mistakes at the very top of the club because the owners knew sht about football and Woodward only really cared for commercials which gave the Glazers exactly what they craved for the most - dividends.

There is a sports psychology textbook waiting to be written about what went wrong at the club right before Sir Alex left. Number one has to be hiring Woodward.

In all honesty he was your best manager since fergie,he had a style of play which matched your club,was a good man manager,gave the youth a chance and was developing them well,even had a great record in big games and every season was better than than last until last season.
