The thing is United are not happy that rumours (which United deny) were coming out of Dortmund that personal terms had been agreed between United and Sancho. And that was actially happening as I remember reading about it at the time just a few weeks ago.

Instead United have said there are real stumbling blocks between player demands and what United want to offer Sancho, which immediately rings alarm bells of another fcking mercenary wanting to join the club. If true, I'd rather not have him. Can't be dealing with a Pogba/Sanchez drama mark 2!

I think Kane would be a good signing IF (and it is a big if) he is keen to join us. He could be another RVP but could turn out to be a Sanchez (unlikely but possible).

all this saga about Sancho doesn’t do our team any good. At £108m he is a gamble however good he is with Dortmund.

Like Barcelona showed, we need hungry players not old satiated players who think they’ve already achieved their goals in life.

Since when did Kane come into the equation?

If we can't get Sancho from Dortmund there's no prospect of that happening .

Anyone getting a bit nervous yet. We seem to be moving at a snail's pace (once again) in the transfer market while the likes of the Chavs have got their business done quickly and cleanly - particularly important with this truncated pre-season. I hope Woody has a few tricks up his sleeve.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Woodward got bogged down in some mad vain pursuit of Messi and we got no one as a result.

Would like to hear something on Sancho, either way, and we should go after Grealish.

We can make do at centre half. Just about!

Errrr, no.

Although the manager is irrelevant, all negotiations go down to the wire with Woodward.

We'll probably end up paying €120 million for Sancho when 'all' they wanted was €105.

Yep but that was one of the main reasons as to why they didn't wait until the end of the season.

Allegedly, yeah. Was bollocks if true.

Massively rushed decision, which was pretty obvious really. No reason why they couldn't have waited for that season to be over, rather than getting excited over a few decent results.

It really is a puzzle tbh. Partly because it plays two scenarios in my mind.

Firstly, that they're once again doing what they've been doing for the last 7 years and still have not learnt from their mistakes and think it's perfectly normal to do so. Or they genuinely believe we don't need anyone.

Both equally absurd.

There is a third scenario.

That they're quietly going about their business and getting the signings lined up and sorted.

Like we used to do.

Unlikely I know.

Rumours of van de Beek leaving Ajax. He's been withdrawn from their next game due to "developments". United being touted as his destination, though Barca also being mentioned.

And Grealish £75m talks still ongoing.

Well that could prove scenario 3 to be correct if true!

Would we still go for Grealish though?

Anyway, if true, a very decent signing.

I'm genuinely not sure Sancho is 'needed'. I do reckon we need that centre half, and an actual No.9 would't go amiss either.

Yep and very much restores a bit of faith in the way the club are doing their business.

It has to be one or the other surely.

Agree about a centre half. A solid cb partnership will make a big difference.

Not been mentioned so far but looks like Pogba aint going anywhere btw. So much for that.

Or De Gea.

Also read that part of any Grealish deal could involve Dalot and even Henderson going on loan to Villa to sweeten the deal.
