Your'e getting deep now mate but i understand what you are saying and agree with it.
Hopefully we are now building a team with structure so each player knows what is expected of him and where, the younger plaers will certainly benefit from that in both building their game and having some security in what's expected of them.

Rashford is wide left and only left. He played RW as a youngster but since his step up has proved far more valuable/effective from the left.
Bellingham is more central and could push Bruno.

No I meant Bellingham re: the whole Dortmund thing you mentioned.

I almost want you bark at spending huge sums on any player at the moment. But if we are going to do it, especially if Pogba leaves, then I’m all in for Bellingham. I would spend the money on him versus another expensive striker, Haarland included! If we can get him added to Sancho. That would be an incredible young midfield of class players. But first, we need to choose the next manager to understand how we are really going to be setup.

I would make an exception to the false Bundesliga stats that Bellingham would be an amazing talent in the Premier League. But I definitely agree that you can just go by Bundesliga stats to pick a player. So many of them have failed these last few years with Chelsea and Liverpool especially wasting money on Bundesliga so-called talented stars.

Bellingham was just a joke comment on my part. We won't be buying him but someone definitely will be. Dortmund are a mess and he's outgrown them.

We need strengthening in other areas. A box to box CM, a CF, and a CB imo.

If Ralf is as good as his rep then he will already be picking players in a formation to suit the manager he has been tasked with choosing.
I am happy with what i have seen so far (mostly) and think we have a squad of players that compliment each other very well.
Just a great DM missing to push on (and maybe 2 CBs :bandit:)

I actually think Fred could do that adequately with a dedicated top DM behind him.

The problem is that our rivals have been (and will be) strengthening. Liverpool have slowly but surely added depth to their squad. The signings look decent tbf. City will add a CF I'm sure this summer. Chelsea always spunk money and may look to replace Lukaku already.

I think it's important not to rush to compete, but better to get the right players to play the system and style of football the club wants to identify with and the manager wants to instill. Not bothered about marquee signings either.

Don’t say that when Treble is around, Diego. The name Fred gives him a nasty hard on.

We've done alright from the German league tbh
    Karius - tragic dud
    Naby lad - meh
    Matip - class
    Bobby - class
    Konate - next vvd

Off the top of my head anyway

Attacking wise we are fine with some good lads coming through like Elanga, Amad and pelistri. Defence is quite well stocked with senior pros and the likes of Mengi and Williams maturing (plus Axel).
Midfield is a worry from the youth side, i had hoped Hannibal and Gardner would have kicked on and got more game time but it's just not happening.
That said, Ralf has mentioned Hannibal a couple of times while he was on international duty so he could be in for a call.

Apart from Konate, most of those players that you mentioned were billed as class before they even signed but they never lived up to it. Matip is very reliable though. Minamino was billed as the first disciple of Jesus. That was a disaster!

I think it’s more around midfield and forward Bundesliga players over the last few years. They barely live up to the bill.

****ing big hulk mate, can head the ball for miles. Not sure if he has the class to hoof the ball to Salah yet but time will tell.

Rubbish narrative about taki tbh who cost a measly 7m btw. And was always coming to be a squad/cup player

And the only one who was billed as the new messiah was naby actually.

All the rest bar karius have been successful acquisitions. You can argue naby due to what we spent on him I'd probably agree that he's not done enough to justify what we spent even now.

Overall, I can’t really argue over Liverpool’s transfer policy. We would do well to get half as much production from our massive spend.

They are buying players to fit the squad/team, we have bought "names" for too many years.
I long for the days when people like Evra and Vidic turned up and most said who?

Yeh and when they weren't very good in their first season not many were quick to write them off like you get these days.
