can agree with that. Will we at last have a set up where players who join us don’t go backwards but improve or at least maintain the standards they were bought for? I can’t off the top of my head recall any expensive player we bought since Fergie left that got better playing for us.

It's a really good point. And actually a very good marker of a club that's not only improving but challenging for major honours.

Btw it's not just the players we bring in, but the youth players coming through to the first team. We've said this before about the likes of Greenwood and McTominay.

I notice you missed Rashford off that list, the lad has gone seriously down hill in the last year. He used to have the best "first touch" in the team and blistering pace and determination, now he is Martial mk2.
Yes i know he has had injuries but his attitude/posture stinks, he needs a good kick up the arse.

Tbh I added Rashford and Lingard to the list then took them off. I shouldn't have done because you're right.

I think there's something underlying with Rashford which we may not know about. Whether it's still about the injury, or what happened in the Euros, or the fact he's not been coached properly, or being played on the right and then the left and all over the place. I don't know.

Gary Neville is already slating Telles and Dalot. He clearly wants Shaw and AWB back in the starting line-up. It's very telling reading all responses by fans to that twit. Funny how all of a sudden he is criticizing "the system". Where had he been for the prior three years to criticize the system? But he's found his voice now.

I like Neville but he is wrong here, it all depends on your CBs and who is assigned to drop back between them when a threat happens.

He was being a clown with that comment. Completely biased too. Where were his comments about the fullbacks when we were shipping goals for xmas gifts?

Rashford should be rested for the next match. He needs to focus on his sharpness. Somehow his game currently lacks the intensity required. And it's worse if the likes of Fernandes are not on top form too. We need to keep possession of the ball more. No point attacking at speed if most of the passes go to the opposition. Defeats the whole purpose. Fernandes especially needs to be more careful with his passing. The number of misplaced passes in the Norwich match was simply ridiculous. If we can't be both fast and accurate in this transitional period, I would rather we slow the pace down and focus on retaining possession and relieving our defence from constant pressure. This match was not much different from the Leicester or Watford matches except that Norwich had no cutting edge. Every week that passes seems to confirm we need someone like Declan Rice to provide the midfield solidity.

His mate's gone now so he can be 'objective' again.

Just goes to show how ridiculous his previous position was.
His position was completely untenable and further contributed to demise of the team because like it or not, these analysts with the megaphones have the loudest voice. We have almost completely thrown this season away because of people like Gary refused to be objective about the situation.

I’m sure you have all read this article on bbc on Rangnick’s methods - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/59607646

I’m impressed that we didn’t simply just hire a manager to try and guarantee trophy, but a manager to build in a structure that will sustain the club into the future. Something that we so badly do not currently have.

Anyway, no one, clearly.

Find it very odd that people think that Rangnick comes with some sort of magic powers.

All very Twitter football followers the not606 crew.

As in, ****ing clueless.

He has tried to do too many changes too quickly though, obviously.

I'd say that at times we need actual full backs, so Shaw and AWB shouldn't just be dismissed.

And Cavani and Sancho should play ahead of Rashford and Ronaldo.

To take Greenwood off and leave Ronaldo and Rashford on was not right tonight. We'd have won if those two were taken off.

I said it when Ole was here and i will say it again now Ralf's here, the main problem is not the management or the tactics it's the players attitude.
Nothing will change without a major bust up and maybe a few departures.

I love Cavani and his attitude, he plays to win for the team not himself.

I was out and didn't see the game. Can't really comment for that reason but we've played the two worst sides in the league and been woeful against both.

I wouldn't mind so much if we improved in at least one area. If we were tighter defensively but weren't great creating chances... or if we were scoring 2 or 3 but were poor defensively. I could understand. But we continue to be poor in both areas and it's not good enough.

This has to be down to the central midfield position and I hope we at least consider addressing it in the January transfer window.
