Problems with Bale in this order:

    1. He doesn’t carry anywhere near as much commercial value as Pogba does so Glazers/Woodward will say no.

    2. His fitness is nowhere near what Pogba’s is.

    3. He doesn’t seem to want to play for us at all, so out of the frying pan into the fire?

    4. He’s older.

Umtiti reminds me of that Mangala lad from City, has he just lost it completely, can we get him playing again, will they want Lindelof in return? I say let them keep Umtiti.

Yeah, agree on Umtiti, if he's free to leave Barca then he's no good to us.

On Bale, I think he's earned his icon status (Pogba hasn't) and so other players should be more accepting of his status and high earnings. I very much doubt he's the same kind of disruptive character as Pogba either, and if he doesn't want to play for us, who does he think he should be playing for? There are only downwards or sideways (United) steps from Real.

His fitness maybe an issue, granted. Ankles are a ****.

I just think with the Adidas deal/Glazers being money grabbing bastards, it’s a non-starter.

Real Madrid will also want to be the bully in this deal so I see it taking time before United simply say “No deal” and that would just cause more problems for us missing other targets.

Sky are reporting that we have made an improved contract offer to David de Cision - time he made his mind up once and for all, there are a couple of decent keepers out there.

    Hopefully, this smokes him out.

If he still won't sign, sell him and play Romero and have Henderson as back up.

I see a lot of Bale on local sport TV and, believe me, he is a shadow of the player that joined RM from Spurs. He is extremely injury prone, he goes missing for huge portions of the game just so he can manage the odd sprint or headline-grabbing goal and the fans here hate him for it. For whatever reason he just seems impervious to the reaction of the crowd, to the negative press - and the quite obvious message that ZZ doesn't want him. Any sane, motivated player would leave to find regular football - not Bale.

He will sit on that bench earning fortunes then head out to the hills each afternoon to play golf and do whatever else he does on his own. He doesn't socialise with the rest of the team, he doesn't bother with any of the charity foundation work - that would involve him knowing more than his three phrases of Spanish - all in all he is a lazy **** who only cares about himself and I can only imagine that,if we made the mistake of buying him, he would soon turn quite toxic.

So Bruno Fernandes has a buy-out clause of £31m which explains Spurs’ interest in him, but if a club bids £31m then all Sporting need to do is reject it and strangely they then owe him €4m. I assume this is just a one-off and not every time the club receives a bid.

I think that’s why United are trying to get him for cheaper than his market value due to this buyout clause, I reckon Woodward will have lawyers all over that contract to see how we can steal him from them, then we’ll end up paying £5m more than what they’re asking for.

Just give them £35m and everyone is happy - the player will earn his 'lost' £4m in no time with us.

Yeah I think Sporting want €50m though. Not sure if they still have to pay him the €4m in the event that we pay €50m for him.

    Is he any good then?

I've got no idea at all.

I know Sky claimed he was a 'proper baller' or something when Liverpool were linked with him but I'm assuming he's now deemed to be **** again.

Will it be a case of allowing Pogba to **** off once he's been signed?

I doubt he’s Pogba’s replacement if we are buying him, I think he’s more Mata’s long term replacement if anything.

I’ve not seen an awful lot of him but he scores for fun from midfield so it can’t be all bad. The problem is if we haven’t got a centre half in then it makes no odds how good he is.

I reckon we're going to chuck money at Maguire to rectify that last issue. If we do, we at least know he's a centre half who is comfortable within the premier league and so fits right in. Potential captain too.

I've no issue with us going for him in that respect.

Maguire, Lindelof and Smalling just about ok for Top 4 aim. Just about.

Pogba will be captain unless he leaves I reckon. It’s about the only card Ole can play unless he’s gonna sign a new contract.

I’d just love a new centre half so we don’t have to panic every time the opponent gets the ball, see what the likes of Rashford and Greenwood can do when they don’t have to start every attack from the edge of their own 6 yard box.

Pereira has signed a new four-year deal with the option of a further year.

Complete waste of time unless he’s going to be sold. One of the worst players I’ve seen these past few years at OT.

Raiola saying Pogba is moving on, ok then you stinking fat mess, come with a cheque for £150m, put the buyer over a barrel like you did with us, and only then will he get his move. Until then we are every bit big enough to squash this egomaniac freak and let him rot in the reserves.

If Ole even dreams of making this vermin Captain after this then Ole is just a ****ing fraud.

We simply have to replace Pogba with a player who has class, none of this potential ****e, the finished article. Not Coutinho, not James Maddison, it has to be somebody like Pjanic, Eriksen or Kroos.
