Still a lot to do in the next 5 weeks. Looks like Sanchez will be staying, so with that in mind I doubt we’ll attempt to buy a replacement for Lukaku, given the leverage any incoming striker would have on wage demands due to Sanchez’s wages.

I wouldn’t be too fussed as I’ve got high hopes for Greenwood, give him a season and see what he’s about.

Rumours suggest Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff incoming for midfield, again I’d be ok with that if we are keeping hold of Pogba.

Concerning lack of movement in the centre half department, both incoming and outgoing. Selling Jones/Bailly and Rojo could bring in £20-30m and save a fair bit of wages, which could part fund any move for Diaz or fully fund Alderweireld. FFS

 

Alderweireld would be the obvious and logical one to go for, although it's been very quiet on that front.

I read somewhere a 'decision on whether to buy a centre half' would be made this week.

I think one of other Pogba or Sanchez has to go. Can't keep both, it creates too much disharmony.

I actually think Pogba would settle down if he was top earner. Then again, I also could be completely wrong.

 

Every time I think about the centre half situation it just frustrates me. How have we gone from Rio and Vidic to a calamity of clusterfucks?

Jones getting a new contract was just utterly ridiculous.

No other club in this league would pay him more than £10k week if he joined them for free, yet here he is on a new 5 year deal on £120k a ****ing week, for being the worst defender in the league.

 

I think we could do ok with Lindelof, Smalling, Bailly and Tuanzebe but only ok.

We really need a bit of class and experience to add to that.
