I agree that Ajayi is an unknown quantity at Championship level but then so was Healey before last week. Halford wont win us this division and his acquisition this month was a waste of time. We could have blooded Ajayi if necessary and it would be up to him to take his chance. Otherwise we've already got a better centre back than Halford in Connolly sitting on the bench in case Manga is off (or injured at the moment) and Halford adds nothing new. To say he can play in midfield as well is clutching at straws. We have a squad well capable of staying up this season if nothing else - either spend some serious money this window or leave it alone until the summer.
I agree with you on Halford, waste of time signing and wont get much out of him at this stage of his career.
The team is a lot weaker with his inclusion. Also he's got the dodgiest hair style I've seen for a while.
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/cardiff-city-set-miss-out-12531063 Lets leave it there.. £1m is ridiculous for a 30 year old player in the Jock league. Luckily, it seems Warnock had his estimations of Hayes' value and has stuck with what he believed he is worth. I genuinely hope we don't come up with a million quid bid for this bloke. I cannot see him being any better than Kadeem!
http://www.westlondonsport.com/feat...north-end-cardiff-city-callum-robinson-linked Preston appear to want £4m for a player who has only managed 12 goals so far in his career. Ok, he is only 21 and 6 of those goals have come this season. Waste of time in my opinion and we do not have 4 million quid just sitting around.
Agreed on Hayes. £1m for a 29 year old player who 's highest playing standard is in Scotland, is ridiculous. If Aberdeen don't need the money offered then fair enough. I think he would have offered more than Kadeem and Kennedy in terms of energy, pace, vision and goal scoring but I wouldn't be prepared to pay what they want. Only 18 months left on his contract so his value will drop from the summer and free from June 2018. Aberdeen are clearly playing the game of maxing what they can get now. I rated Feeney 4 years ago but not sure now. Colin signed Halford to cover gaps on the basis Halford knew the division and what he can do, although not much evidence seen of that so far. I don't think we can afford to pay money for someone who sits in the same box. As for Robinson ....... Have we got £4m? Don't think so.
Can't see any point in a near 30 year old who plies his trade in a league of inferior quality to the Championship. Plus cannot see how he could improve the team. City need quick and creative and attacking midfielders and goal scoring strikers. There's plenty of options out wide- Hoillett, Kennedy, Noone & Harris. Should be looking for young talent. Twitter rumours City haven't given up on Hayes & made a cash bid for Taylor of the Gas. Can't see how PNE put 4m value on Robinson
Now I'd take this guy all day long - at the right price! http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/cardiff-city-make-enquiry-bristol-12532224
I think I mentioned Taylor back in December. My mate's a Gashead and he says they would be very sorry to lose him. As for moving to Ashtip Gate he runs the risk of upsetting both halves of Brizzle although the ****eheads don't seem too bothered. £300k is the fee. They see that as loose change from Landsdown's back pocket. A bit of a flutter.
Someone has added a comment to the WoL article - swap Lambert for Taylor? Works for me, Lambert "goes home" and the Gas get a ready made striker so need to look for another one. Also saves us a shedfull in wages.
