No I disagree with you that he was a decent player, very average and 500k is a good price for a not so decent player.
£500k for a backup keeper is good work when the number 1 is on another level to him. I'm really worried about our plan to sign a striker, we obviously need one, we obviously can't afford the player we need. It feels like we're about to add to our every growing list of average strikers. I'd rather us sign a young PL playmaker/attacker who might actually open the game up and produce some extra chances. Someone a bit like the lad we had from Everton (can't remember his name Mc something?!?).
Cheers Sparks. I wasn't saying him in particular just a player in that style. Someone good enough a PL side wants to develop for themselves rather than a player they're hoping to sell to L1/Championship for a small profit to cover development. I think Liverpool have a few but they have a 75% involvement clause for loans that seems to be an issue for a few who've enquired (according to the press).
Good luck to Simon at Sheffield. He has been a good deputy for Marshie but with us out of the league cup he was unlikely to get any games until the FA Cup in January unless Marshie gets injured or suspended. He needs regular first team football to improve so this should be a good opportunity. I don't think Wilson is of the same quality yet so a replacement is needed quickly. What keepers are out there? Joe Hart anyone?
I know you're taking the piss but I wouldn't want him. Which sums up why Guardiola can't really be blamed for wanting someone much better. Butland will be England number 1 once he's fit. I think our poundstretcher approach means Wilson could quite likely be used as backup till Jan at least. It's a big risk if we do.
I know you're taking the piss but I wouldn't want him. Moi - feigns indignance!!!! Lol!!! Don't think we could afford his £70k+ (at least) weekly wages even if we offload your bff Macheda, ALF, Dikgacoi after Adeyemi and Moore. Marshie wouldn't be happy either. Nothing personal against Wilson, just don't think he's big enough or has enough experience in this league. Wonder who Trolls has in mind? I think Dimi Dropalot is down the pecking order at Boro.
New keeper? Someone tell Trolls to look at the keeper in the GB Ladies Hockey team at the Olympics. Awesome display. Well done ladies.
I've thought for a while that a similar format would benefit footy. Start 25 yards out and dribble towards the goal 1 on 1 with the keeper. More representative of what happens during a game.
Fair play to GB's coach. The plan seemed to be 'all out defense, get the keeper to the shootout' There was only ever going to be one winner once she was there
Ah well, it seems like the Klingon has Klungon................ http://sportwitness.co.uk/cardiff-city-transfer-deal-stalls/
No surprise. The deal was first raised about 3 weeks ago and with nothing happening I felt it was likely they wouldn't take him. However, WoL were still talking in more positive terms yesterday. Can't see that we need another midfielder though, Trolls said nothing about that last week. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...s/federico-macheda-finally-seal-move-11779079
This one was off the radar................ Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett will decide between a move to Cardiff City or Reading over the next 48 hours. please log in to view this image Manchester United's Tyler Blackett is to decide between a move to Cardiff or Reading The two Championship sides have agreed a fee with United for the 22-year-old who was in the stands to watch Reading draw 2-2 with Brighton on Saturday and met up with Jaap Stam afterwards. Blackett will hold talks with Cardiff on Monday though former Old Trafford favourite Stam is understood to have impressed the young defender so far.
Not set the world on fire - played 12 times for Manure and out on loan, 5 times for Blackpool , 8 times for Birmingham and 9 times for Celtic (last season, having gone there in August 2015). Both clubs are reported to have agreed a fee so it is up to the player. Sky says Reading, Star says us. Time will tell. I would expect him to chose Reading due to the Stam/Man U link and the opportunity to learn from a great defender like Stam as opposed to........... Looks like he can play cb or fb so meets the versatility Trolls wants.
Why in the hell are we looking for defenders ,the problem is pace up front and a proven goal scorer,i know we have lost a fullback but come on we need to score more goals, and that should be our priority.
See Trolls comments last week. He wants a versatile defender, cover for Marshie after selling Moore and a striker. I guess this one has come up first.
