I don't feel any need to mitigate again. But I will leave it here with this observation. If Charlton Life is the great melting pot we are led to believe why do they insist upon a banner proclaiming 100% support for Chris Powell who has well let's be nice and say 50% support. May I remind you what it said on the gates of Auschwitz "work sets you free" both banners are equally enticing and tragically untrue. I am not going to set my case out against a site that has become ugly and spiteful, i have called it as I saw it.
I actually agree with much of what Typ has to say about Slick Rick and CL and share his gratitude to the previous owners. I disagree with Vol's and his stance on Powell entirely. What I find genuinely difficult is this incensent linking of opinions different to their own to beverage, choice of coat, footwear, seat in the ground and social class. As if the fact that I have a sensible waterproof jacket, do quite like bovril and read a paper that occationally sees the world differently from the Daily Mail, while sitting in the West Stand makes me less of a fan or explains a difference of opinion. I also own some Adidas Gazelles a Parker and a Harrington and spent so time in the proper Covered End before anyone had ever conceived the "Upper North" so that might qualify me to hold a limited number of approved opinions.
