Some good suggestions here but without investment in the playing staff any incoming manager will have the same squad as now, and quite honestly I think we could have The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse running things and nothing would change, our squad is made up of sicknotes, ageing hasbeens, posers, 4th division standard " strikers " and youngsters, and that will be all there is to work with.
Evans is the blight on our Club, Evans is responsible for our decline, Evans has made us a laughing stock, there is no way out of this spiral with him running us into the ground.

Isn’t the problem with having a rotten club that the playing staff are now almost inconsequential?

So many players who have passed through the club under the tenure of Marcus Evans have found form elsewhere and similarly this squad of players is comfortably capable of winning League One under a different set of circumstances.

It was those years where we had the opportunity to grow or there were fine margins that investment was needed. There will be opportunities again but the reason that Evans is the wrong owner is that he never realises those moments or the urgency of those moments.

He immediately needs to act on a change of manager to reverse the decline and spend in January. If he fails to act we could very well find ourselves in even more trouble.

I get a bit sick of repeating myself, but Evans did feck all to halt the slide that lead to the disastrous relegation. What makes you think he’ll act with any more urgency in this latest crisis?

Agreed BA this isn't a sudden thing this has been going on for years which has led us to where we are now, the worst part is that Evans doesn't seem to give a damn.

Jim worked a minor miracle when he 1st took over. No money to spend and yet he got us playing entertaining football. His problem for me was when Marcus took over and gave him a massive (in championship terms) transfer budget. He really could have used some help from a director of football but as a rookie manager, had to do it all himself. He publically named players that he wanted to buy causing massively inflated price tags (Norris for 1.9 million springs to mind). I would still love someone to be in charge that had his level of passion for the club instead of the stream of managers we appear to have who come for the pay cheque - as long as they don’t rock the boat, they are handsomely rewarded

Absolutely the point. Obvious to all of us, by and large there is consensus amongst supporters. This is another one of those moments for another mistake from the owner.

Sunderland already pulled the plug on their manager after a run of no wins in 5 (including an FA cup loss) and sitting 8th in the table.

Decisive action from a team that clearly want promotion.

Will it make any difference to our situation though if we sack Lambert?

It will only make a difference if the new manager is willing to stand up to ME & tell him a few home truths about what is not good enough around the club. My guess is that even if PL is sacked, another yes man will come in & nothing will change. 1st rule of insanity - doing the same think repeatedly & expecting different results

We will definitely not go up if we don’t. We might get a bounce and a run of form if we do make a change and a few better players (even if they’re loans) in January. Lambert’s transfer dealings have been absolutely shocking.

That may be correct but Evans wouldn't engage anyone who would challenge his way of doing things, its his way or no way.

His problem was he did too well at the start...if he wouldn't have done that well we wouldn't have been as investable and ME may never have taken over

How often do Ipswich do things properly?

Normally you'd say a statement like that was a sign a manager was close to the sack but this Evans and Ipswich we're talking about!

Lambert is apparently unbelievably wanted by Celtic.

    Dear Celtic

Please take him off our hands.

    Sincerely

    Please let this happen!

Whip round for the train fare?!

Yorkie you need to edit your letter

“It is with great remorse that we learn of your interest in our glorious leader.
But your need is greater than ours,so with reluctance we are prepared to let him answer this higher calling!!” ;)
