Did nowt wrong against Swansea by the way - and he's given away two silly penalties - no worse than a striker missing a couple of clear cut opportunities a DM being too eager to win the ball or beaten by a little bit of (very good) skill? But he doesn;t start now for anyone but Gomez - and even then I'd leave it exactly as it was - that team didn;t need a Cattermole - And I am not sure he's "gone backwards" as much as stood still - the players around him are much better and he hasn't improved (although he played two sublime passes yesterday I thought!) He's a bencher now and you all know my opinion on him! But he doesn;t get into that side barring injury

Coates played very well at the end of last season. I've always thought and still think he's not good enough either. Larsson was playing in a poor team last season, this season the team has improved, him and Cattermole will be left behind in this new set-up, IMO. I still see a player in Rodwell and I think with DA's guidance we will see the best of him. Admittedly, I think these players will split the fans on who should be our other midfielder... Gomez's crossing yesterday was nothing short of a joke, how a professional footballer cannot get the ball of the ground and beat the first man, bemuses me.
We may see that 3rd midfield slot change regulary depending on who we are playing. Gomez Catts Larsson Rodwell all fighting for it.
I'll never understand that mate. Spurs' 18m new signing Son could even beat the first man either. 18m, and can't even whip a ball in.
Even still 1000s of pound a week and can't do that. When I played Sunday league i'd skit anybody who couldn't beat the first man on crosses. I'd tell them they shouldn't be playing Sunday League

That's my problem. I was always a fatty but the weight really piled on when I stopped playing. Knee ****ed. It's done after about 20 minutes and it just swells out.
How would you compare that team yesterday to the one Bruce assembled (then destroyed). With Bent Welbeck and co?
Welbeck, Bent, Gyan vs Lens, Defore, Borini. The only swap I'd make on pure footballing ability would be Bent for Defoe. Bent is/was the better poacher imo.
We now have a little strength in depth.when Jonno comes back and they can keep fit I fell we will be ok
