You can’t cancel the cup and European competitions as they provide some of the places in the following years European competitions.

It’s either finish it all or finish nothing. So it’s more like 10 weeks of football to be fit in.

If you're worried about teams being denied promotion, why aren't you worried about the winners of the Europa Cup getting a CL spot? That would be worth a fortune to the club in question.

So even if they want to be finished by the end of June that means football needs to be restarted by mid April which we already know isn’t happening as all football is off until 30th April already...

Unless they plan to play more than two games a week and get football started up ASAP I just don’t see how it’s physically possible to have it done by the end of June!

Just schedule games within 24 hours of each other, like the FA did with Liverpool's League Cup and Club World Cup fixtures and no one else in the competition was complaining then <ok>

That’s what I’ve said in my next comment - unless they plan on playing more than twice a week I don’t see how it’s physically possible to fit the number of games in even if football restarts April 30th (which let’s be serious, isn’t going to happen).

Funny though that some will convince themselves they think it should be voided and that their opinion has nothing to
European football can take a back seat, the industry is in dire straights (because 90% of clubs are not rich PL clubs who play in Europe) which is where you're head is at.

Home leagues and the clubs are the priority in the UK and around Europe, not Liverpool's title, not people like you and stan gagging for us not to be allowed to finish the season and collect the title.

The greater will is to finish the league season if possible. If the outbreak continues to be a bigger and bigger issue over the next 2 months, then I can't see how they can't void the season.

Obviously the preference is to get the league finished at some point. But you can’t just remove the other competitions as they have a huge effect on the clubs still in them. You’ve got to play out all of the football or none of it imo.

The time available to finish though is very tight already and as I say it’ll require some teams to play more than twice a week to meet the dates given and that already assumes football resumes 30th April which won’t happen.

If the coronavirus issues continue for a couple of months which is likely, there won’t be time to finish the season by 30th of June.

The virus is never going to disappear completely, or not for about 2 years at least for a widespread vaccine

So do we also cancel next season if/when a player/manager gets infected?

Or will next season's league just treat it like any other injury/illness?

If next season we are still having situations where entire teams are self isolating and the safety of fans and staff can’t be guaranteed then I expect next season would be ****ed as well.

There's two things I'm pretty sure of.

1 - Liverpool absolutely do deserve the title and will win it on the pitch when the season is allowed to play out at some future point.

2 - If it was Man City way ahead for their 3rd title in a row they'd just be saying "we hope everyone who is unwell recovers, there's more important things in life than football" and not worry about what happens with the football.

I know you're tongue in cheek here but honestly there's many Liverpool fans saying that the focus just has to be on finishing the league and not worry about anything else (football-wise).

    Self-absorbed. It's kind of funny.

Declaration of conflict of interest: I want the league to finish because I want the club to pick up the title.

Though if the situation gets worse, then I don't give a crap about football tbh.

Man City should lose their titles for deliberate and repeated violation of financial rules, not a public health crisis

I don't disagree. If proven (and it may well be) then they need to be taken away.

Your crystal ball might be cracked mate.

If Man City were 25 points ahead, I'd be "just give them the title" if you cant finish it. (Spoiler: I dont want a 28 game title, all or nothing for me)
If Man City were ahead, I'd want the league to finish if it could with a delay, depending on what happens with the spread of the chiv because of the mayhem that will ensue if it isn't. (yes football is secondary to people's health but the topics can be mutually exclusive).

The general consensus is, if things are gotten under control and the situation looks better, then we can look at finishing the league.
If the situation still requires serious measures, then we have to look at other options, including voiding the season.

You have little faith in your fellow man :bandit:

Do titles really exist if there are no club supporters to celebrate them <whistle>
