The replays show the ball hitting his arm, which he used to control the ball. Had he not scored that illegal goal - it would have been 1-1 And that is what people call a draw
How can you say that it would have been a draw? You don't just minus a goal, football doesn't work like that.
Well that is true but it gives you a decent idea. For instance, try telling what you've just said to some Liverpool fans in '89 They won't believe that a goal won't make a difference
Szczesny is Better than Friedel now if you look on current form Szczesny is arguably the best Keeper in the league, hes consistently made great saves to keep us in games at times. Sagana is miles better than Walker even you can hopefully see that Song is far better than Parker, the so called praise from every corner is mostly from the British Media who are extremely biased in regards to English players. Song is a better defensive Midfielder but he also contributes to the attacking side which is why he so far forward at time. Song is better in regards to overall talent and if you actually consider that he’s a lot young and is likely to improve even more then he’s a stronger addition to the squad. Santos offers more than Assou-Ekotto going forward neither are the best defensively but I would rather have Santos. Modric again flatters to deceive in 125 games for spurs he’s scored 13 goals and got 11 assists while Wilshire has 4 goals and 11 assists in 78 appearances for Arsenal. Given the fact that he plays a deeper role than Modric I would say the statistics show that he offers more. You can argue all you want about how statistics don’t show the whole picture but every time ive seen Modric he’s been good but not amazing as the media seem to claim Wilshire is already a better player at 19 give him a few more seasons and you will see his true potential.
Which? If the ball hit his arm it wasn't handball: again knowing the rules helps: "Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with his hand or arm." The replays were unclear as to whether it even hit his arm, and none showed a deliberate act
I think what SF is trying to say is that if VdV's goal had been wrongly disallowed, then (a) play would have restarted from a totally different place on the field so everything that followed would have been different and (b) tactics, confidence etc could also have been different. So any claim about what would have happened is pure conjecture.
I'll agree at the moment Sagna is better than Walker. Santos is NOT better than Assou-Ekotto. Assou-Ekotto is a much better defender (admittedly he could be better) than Santos and still is decent going forward. Parker is slightly better than Song in what he does. If you truly believe that Parker is hyped up by the British media only because he's English then you must also believe the same happens with Wilshere (which I don't think you do). Wilshere does not play deeper than Modric. Wilshere plays with a DM in Song as does Modric with Parker. They play in a very similar position. You also got your stats wrong: Modric: 128 games, 13 goals and 18 assist Wilshere: 78 games, 4 goals and 11 assists. I'll think you find Modric has a higher goals and assists per game so statistics actually show Modric is more effective. I don't need to argue statistics don't show the whole picture as they favour Modric, even thought stats do not show the full role Modric (and Wilshere) do for their teams.
I'm not saying it wouldn't make a difference either. Although I might if you think it'll get a reaction from the Scousers
I dont agree with the Wilshire comment, Arsenal play a different formation than Spurs and as a result Wilshire is less far forward in games than Modric and yes Modric may have a better goals to games ratio but Wilshire assist rate is better. As an Arsenal fan im biased in favour of Wislhire just as you are in favour of Modric and I would defiantly prefer Wilshire to Modric just because I believe he offers more to the team overall for example his defensive play in my opinion is better than Modric's even though Modric is also good at this and I think he has better vision than Modric which is why he has a better rate of assists.
You might be right about the different formations but I still believe they play just as deep as each other. I think vision is actually something Modric has greater although their assist rates are completely identical!
I think VDV is more like Rambo than Modric. I do rate him highly though. Before his injury he was special. Technically he had everything he needed to get to the very top.
Quite right, don't rely on people who actually watch them both, rely on your ludicrous prejudices only
Wow, you started on the alcopops early yesterday. Embarrassing when you read back drunken ramblings isn't it?
I don't believe Wilshere is as good as Modric yet, due to lack of experience; but the boy certainly has something special and if he continues to develop and perform as he has been, he will be a much better player than Modric in a few years.
