just to put this into perspective by the way, grant holt's new contract at norwich is believed to be just under 20k a week. ipswich pay jimmy bullard 20k a week and have just offered luke chambers 15k a week. who would you rather have at those sort of wages? he's well paid but he's a pauper in premier league terms - he was allegedly to be offered £40k a week had west ham agreed a deal, so he's not exactly 'sold out' has he.

Rumours, the only fact in this whole saga is Grant Holt took to twitter to say he didn't want to stay with Norwich unless they gave into his demands. i.e. your club is only an employer to him.

    so?

i expect you'll find 99.9% of players, unless they came through the youth team or were a boyhood fan are merely employees of a club.

as it happens, you've completely made up what he said on twitter but don't let that worry you! he actually said that he still wanted to leave because of things that were said (i presume about his age) and because he hadn't been offered a 3-year deal. he felt he wasn't going to get that extra year - hughton thankfully managed to get it sorted for him. fact is, he's our highest paid player now and deservedly so for what he has done, and still he isn't on big money, yet we're premier league. quite an achievement.

i bet you wish your club was being run more like mine.

What have i made up, do you deny that it was actually said in the public domain that he had handed in a transfer request because he wanted to future to be elsewhere? then suddenly by some stroke of a miracle he gets what he demand and suddenly Norwich is the only club for him!

I can't see any point that is made up? or perhaps you don't like it because McNally has shown weakness by caving into demands?

And yes, i accept that a player is an employee, but you lot kept saying how much he loved you, the club the area! yeah he really loved it/you that much that he decide to shaft you out in the open rather than by doing it the proper way.

no, you're wrong. he clearly stated he wanted to stay and that he felt he had no choice but to hand in the request. he has said all along he never wanted to leave the club and that he wanted to end his career at carrow road. not once has he said he WANTED to leave. he did say he was still expecting to leave as no resolution was forthcoming but that's different. i do think he came close to leaving, certainly west ham tried hard to get him, but he would have been paid more had he gone there than he is here, yet as soon as hughton got him the three years (and a pay rise which he did deserve to be fair) he signed on the dotted line. he does love the area and the club - he's been horrendously advised, ask some of the journalists like charlie wyatt who is in the know - he said his agent has been a nightmare throughout - but at the end of the day all parties got the result they wished for. except ipswich fans <ok>

Supers, you are well known to only believe what you want to believe. The truth is that Fat boy would have dropped you lot like a stone if he didn't get what he wanted. no matter what garbage you come out with, thats the truth and how you can say its any different is quite frankly deluded & laughable!
