The Leeds United Supporters Trust (LUST) has welcomed news that a Middle-Eastern investment bank has confirmed it is leading a takeover of the club. Bahrain-based Gulf Finance House (GFH) confirmed on Thursday morning in a letter to the Bahrain Stock Exchange that one of their subsidiaries, GFH Capital, had signed an exclusive agreement to lead and arrange the purchase of the club's parent company, Leeds City Holdings. And, having lobbied for change on behalf of the Trust since its formation, LUST chairman Gary Cooper expressed his delight at the latest development. He told Press Association Sport: "This is great news. The Trust has been calling for the potential buyer and the club to say something and this is what we've all been waiting to hear."
Bates isnt going to announce it and lose the little power he has. He's a control freak who has the attention of the football media and all LUFC fans right now. Once this goes through he's just a little old rich man who no one will listen to. Statements to stock exchanges are not taken lightly and they would not have made it if the deal wasn't close to completion. The fact that GFH capital have commented at all shows its the end game and Bates has lost the control of the deal.

The news is regarding the legal part of the transaction. They are registering the takeover with the stock exchange, which means the paperwork to actually carry out the takeover is moving forward, which if I'm not mistaken means the deal has been done and the bureaucratic part of the deal can now go ahead. The ownership will now exchange hands.
yep that's the way I was thinking. Can't see it being announced on the stock exchange if they weren't absolutely certain that the deal was done, otherwise it would have a potentially massive impact on their share prices should it fall through. I think it's a matter of signing the relevant papers and making the big announcement, hopefully sooner rather than later
One phone call from Warnock will be all it will take and the funds can be released. Its surely to late in the deal for Bates to pull a crafty one. Agreements could be made with other teams for 10k up front followed by a substantial loan payment next week/month. I'm in ****ing dream land right now and cant wait for it to be all official.
