I would rather finish 14th than 7th actually. If we do then so be it. But still Not is all lost as of yet.!!
I have given it until after the Middlesboro game for that to be true,, imo. Assuming of course that our rivals also start to pick up points. Lets be honest here. With the points return Hull City have had over the past month we should be well out of the race for the top 6. But the form of our rivals keeps us in the mix. Thats the point to think about at the moment.
Bloody hell its all doom and gloom on here. Its the championship remember. Your all conducting a post mortem and if you get a decent result tommorow you could go into the play offs. You have been **** in front of goal all season but you have still given yourselves a chance of play offs. If someone offered you this position at the start of the season you would of took it
Indeed. very very true. You had a poor result against Forest i see as we were being dire @ Pompey. Thats the nature of the league this season. Every game is different. Dont you just love the championship.??
We have been **** for most of the season and find ourselves 4 points off the play offs. I said the other day if we stick a decent run together now and got into the play offs and won them. Looking back at the season you would think we was **** but somehow got promoted. Thats the nature of the championship
I can't stand that saying I'm sure many of us would, but judging by the position we held not that long ago and the vast amount of points dropped from what should have been easy wins.. it's hard to look at it that way.
not wishing to be confrontational. I hope that is all in the past. I would have taken what we have now based on what was stated at board level at the start of the season. next season may be a different matter based on those same comments. however, a question for you: would you have been happy with what you have now based on what was said/promised at your end at the start of the season?
What we had at the start of the season was all built on sand and had no solid structure. We was waiting to self destruct and Nigel has sorted/ sorting it. This season hasnt exactly gone to plan but we are where we are. We will be alot better next season. At the minute you have some solid foundations which just need building on. While we are the other way round. We have everything but the foundations
very very true. £80 million quid from the tv cash for starters. The club is in a much better place now than this time last season both on and off the pitch. Whatever league we are in come august 2012 the squad will be even more improved. Only the summer actually brings any club value for money deals. January is the month of the desperate and panic buy merchants. NB is a cool and level headed manager and my guess is that he already know what he intends to do in the summer and where the best value for money players will come from. Hull City dont need much for the championship if thats what happens. What is at stake is a glorious long term future and not a short term boom and almost-bust that came with the last regime. UTT
Unfortunately there is absolutely no chance of us getting a decent result tomorrow. We don't have a game until Saturday
Who said anything about spending millions ? ( ie...the likes of Gerrard - Butterfield and McCleary would cost the staggering amount of £0.00 as all 3 are free agents this summer. ) Vito and at least 1 goal scorer are where i think some money will be spent in the summer. In theory NB will have the 2/3 million that was there in January and maybe Allams will give NB the whole 3rd parachute payment (£8m) that comes in august as well,,, as an example.
Yeah i keep thinking today is Friday. I have the day off tommorow and i normally only have saturdays off thats why
i think we should stop using the term: "...millions to spend...." As in that of transfer fees. I personally think there will be very little, if any to spend on transfer fees. However, if we can lift our monthly/annual wage bill signifiantly, then this will go a long long way to achieving success next season.
Nick Barmby is doing a fine job already. Whilst some dont agree with his tactics At least the football is very good to watch overall. Even though we lost @ Pompey the game was an entertaining watch.
I'd agree with this but really we need to win this game for us! I know the "Ahh we're not ready" people have come out now but I'm still hoping for a frigging play off place! Team for saturday should be... Mannone (if he plays better than tuesday) Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dawson Olifinjana Brady McKenna King Simpson Fryatt. Bench: Oxley (eff off Gulasci), Bradley, Evans, Stewart, Cullen (McLean's getting on my bloody nerves). MUST WIN. end of story.
They'll all be looking for substantial signing on fees and Butterfield is still subject to academy compensation, none of them are actually available on a free.
