This attitude does my head in. Why can't it be more important than the league? Football surely is about these amazing occasions and memories. Why would anyone be more bothered about whether they finish 8th or 9th than the Champions League ffs? They've already won the league, what else can they achieve domestically? The dream has to be to do well in the CL surely.
100% agree and this is what drove me mad about our Europa league campaign. Everyone kept saying "oh the premier league is the priority". Why? Money? GTF. What are you going to remember on your death bed - scraping 4th from bottom or an amazing run through the group stages and potentially beyond? We'll almost certainly never qualify again and we should've thrown everything at it to the detriment of the premier league.
Leicester should be aiming to finish 4th in the PL and get knocked out of the CL in the last 16 every season now.. there is a precedent for this sort of success
