I have every belief that come the start of next season we'll be looking to finish above 19 other teams, including the likes of Man City, Chelsea etc.

We'll be looking to finish as high as we bloody well can.

I've seen a fair bit of Morgan over the years, and he isn't even fit to clean the toilet of the lady who makes breakfast for the youth who cleans Davies's boots.

It's a conversation that's always going to be blighted by bias, but on the face of it I'd have said our squad at present is a lot better than Leicester's. Does that mean that the players they have are crap? No, of course not. The players we have make up, at present, the 12th best team in the country.

Wasilewski isn't as good as Chester or Davies, in my opinion. The latter two have proven with ease this season that they're every bit PL players. Marcin hasn't played in the top flight before, neither have the likes of Drinkwater, Vardy, Morgan, Knockaert, Mahrez or Dyer, so how on Earth you can say they're just as good as a team that's spent the whole season in PL mid table is beyond me.

If you didn't buy anybody, kept the same team and managed to finish higher than us next season, I'd accept you have the better team, but your basis on how impressive your team is comes from beating the likes of Yeovil, Doncaster, Blackpool, Barnsley, Ipswich etc. Ours is based on beating Liverpool, Newcastle, Swansea, Norwich, West Brom, West Ham etc.

Wasyl has played in the Champions League and is a club legend at Anderlecht because of that.

The basis on how impressive my side is comes from being the best side since the famous Reading side at this level. That side went on to finish 8th in the Premier League (not saying we'll do anything like that).

I disagree that your side is "a lot better". It is better, but not by as much as some of you would like to make out.

Of course mate.

So we're not currently on a par with each other then?

This thread is sounding a lot like posts from the Sunderland RTG board....they thought they had a fatastic team first game of the season n all.

No, i've not said that.

I've said we're 4/5 signings from being a side I expect to finish above yours.

Despite Nige saying he expects and in fact wants to keep the same squad with only a few additions? Then considering we'll be adding more too, possibly with the attraction of European football (fingers crossed)? So you acknowledge you're behind us at the moment, we'll both possibly strengthen but you think you'll get above us?

Good luck with that!

I went by that, which says you signed 6 players (although 7 if you include that Henderson who I've not heard of) in the summer. I didn't include the loanees.

Boyd, Sagbo, McGregor, Huddlestone, Davies and Harper.

I'd counted Boyd as signing last season since that's when the whole thing was agreed under one of those dodgy emergency loan transfers that completely bypass the normal rules. If we're saying you need to make x transfers and you're comparing it to us to ask why, it doesn't really matter where the idea we only made 6 signings (including 2 Gks and one who was on loan with us most of last season) comes from, it's wrong because we signed more than that, and even having signed more than that we were still trying to bring more players in during the summer because we didn't feel we'd made enough yet.

Mate, I was only going by that wiki page. I didn't know how many players you'd signed and that says you'd signed 6 (7 if you count that young lad) with another 2 on loan (i.e. they're not your players).

I've been watching this pissing contest from afar and determined not to be drawn in.

However can I just say that anyone suggesting Dave Nugent is on a par with Shane Long must have been dropped on their ****ing head as a baby.

Carry on.

Absolutely.

For the record, do you mind telling me who that was?

It will be interesting to see if Nigel has the power to sign the players you need, as there is no doubt Steve Bruce managed to get signing, such as Huddlestone that other managers would not have achieved.

I think they scout that brought Drogba, Essien and Zola to the English game will be just fine thanks.

Please don't pick out a few select comments from FoxesTalk saying that we're going to win the Champions League in two seasons, and assume that's the majority opinion of Leicester fans.

Also, why on Earth do you visit FoxesTalk? I'm sure if I went on somethinggenericabouttigers.com I could pick out a few "ambitious" comments.

Fact is, where you finish in the Championship is largely irrelevant. DQPR won the league based on a "just give the ball to Taarabt" approach, while Swansea went for a more footballing approach which was better suited for the Premiership, but could only finish top 6 in the league below.

Are we better than the Hull team of 2012/13? Who knows... Who cares?

It's all about how you do in the transfer window. NP has done a fantastic job scouting and attracting players at Championship level, but how will he do a level above? Remains to be seen... All I can say is, I am confident we will not be doing a DQPR (I'm sure our owners would have learnt from our own attempt at chucking money around to see what sticks!), and I would hope our transfer activity would be better than Cardiffs. Apparently we were preparing to bid £500k for Cornelius before they came in with their £8m bid <yikes>

At the end of the day, if we went up and had signed Huddlestone, Livermore, Long, Jelavic et al, I would have been ecstatic. You've done well, and are a model to follow. I hope we can follow it.
