Our point is, that however good you think your current team is, it rarely proves to be good enough in reality. We didn't realise this either, as clearly Cardiff didn't.

It's also more than just having a decent first team; you need a decent squad, as if you have a minor injury crisis, the rest of the PL will rip you a new one. There is no hiding whatsoever in the PL, even against the poorer team.

This is it.

A lot of naïveté from our guests on here but they still sound eminently sensible compared to their Foxes Talk brethren.

Drinkwater and James have come on leaps and bounds through experience rather than ability and are now widely acknowledged as the best two central midfielders in the league. But still, what's your point?

No you're right...I'm sure you'll be fine with the team you've got...with a 'couple of quality' additions.

What Proud is saying is that we're probably a back-up goalkeeper, a centre half, a right back, a winger and a striker away.

All important positions that need filling and would obviously change the side dramatically, whereas other sides might need 8/9 signings to be competitive. Some of the squads in this league seriously lack depth.

Our goalie in the Champ side was on loan. We haven't had a permanent number one since Myhill. McShane would be playing if not out injured. So would Brady. Both in last years side. Our bench on Saturday consisted of our Champ players (bar one). We have needed 2 strikers for years. They only came in Jan so not like we bought them last summer. So you're 5 players away you say. On Saturday 6 of that team that started (so not inc the bench) not with us in the Champ. So doesn't sound too different to what you're saying. We were not that far away from the team we have now when we went up. We have kept the spine. Cardiff didn't.

5/6 new signings would be fine for us IMO, probably spend a similar amount that you did. You act like I don't know what the Premier League is like, I've seen us play in Europe ffs <laugh>

You signed 6 players, two being goalkeepers and another was on loan to you for most of the previous season. Why does our squad (which has proven to be better than the Hull City squad of 2012/13) need so many more changes?

How does that work?

Because it's not good enough?

I don't think you have, and I think that's why you've been doing so brilliantly.

McGregor
Davies
Huddlestone Livermore
Long Jelavic

Not a bad spine to build a promotion winning side around.

Better than;

Jakupovic
Faye McShane
Quinn Koren
Simpson Fryatt

Not sure you can say that Andy. Not comparable at all imo. If you're saying you got more points that us then so did Cardiff, as I've already pointed out. Yet you dismissed that one already. So which is it?

You will need to invest at least £20m to get you on a par with the lower end of the league. The difference in class is significant and however good you beleive your squad to be...it isnt. You may have 3 good enough

I believe that Schmeichel, Wasilewski, Knockaert, Drinkwater, James, Mahrez, Nugent and Vardy are all good enough. Morgan, King, Schlupp, De Laet, Wood and Dyer are all maybes.

hahaha...really? Better than the Cardiff side from that season as well?

Are you for real?

We've got 10 more points than you managed and we've got 6 more games to come. We could break the record for the best points total that division has ever seen.

We're 2 points better than Cardiff already too.

So while trying to avoid sounding arrogant (I don't try too hard), yes, I think we're miles better.

Leicester fans.. you're obviously buzzing knowing your promoted and have an excellent chance of winning the championship.. but the gulf in class between the prem and the championship is ridiculous. No matter how good you think some of your players are currently, they'll be the same players you look at next season thinking "they're not good enough for this league..." sad but true..

NP will have to bring in premier league quality to your team. Look at us this season bringing in Huddlestone and Livermore... its made ALL the difference for us having that bit of quality in midfield.. so to think that you dont need to improve in midfield for the prem is really naive in my opinion.

Saying that, NP and his staff have a real eye for good players and will definitely bring in some class.

It performed much, much better than LCFC that season.

Your arse fell out and you bottled it, remember?

Absolutely, we were ****ing **** the second half of that season. One of the negatives to youth is a severe lack of experience.
