.. then you misunderstood me .. so no problem. I don't doubt Gangsta's overall loyalty to LCFC, I'm sure he's enjoying the moment like the rest of us ...

... but he was also very opinionated - and on the 'succession' he was wholly negative - most of the arguments opposed to Gangsta's negativity were, tbf, merely along the lines that the initial signs were good and that Ranieri should be given the benefit of the doubt ... certainly not denonuncing everything Gangsta was saying as 'wrong' as you seem to have suggested ...

... whilst you are "absolutely sure" about why he walked away - my view is different - and similar to some expressed above... I just don't think he could face up to the prospect that his predictions of gloom and doom might be being blown out of the water ... which, tangibly, they have been ...

In fairness there have been a couple of little digs from posters wondering at his absence (and not from me) ... but they have been humourous / ironic rather than malicious ... and lets be honest, Gangsta was pretty good at dishing it out ... just a shame he couldn't also 'take it' ...

    I apologise for this debate!

And would like to point out, that this isn't a calling out of Gangsta to be humourous / ironic / malicious, it was a genuine question wondering where a good poster has got to!

No problem at all Jack .. there would have been many, me included, wondering where he had got to. That AKCJ and I have differing views concerning the main reason behind his absence is, in a nutshell, a tangible demonstration of what any public forum is (and should be IMHO) about - exchanges of view - sometimes heated, sometimes humourous - but, hopefully, never taken too seriously - particularly as the prime subject matter underpinning why we are all here is, after all, a game <laugh>.

Neither side is innocent to be fair, just had a look back at the original CR appointment thread and its a doosey <ok>
    http://www.not606.com/threads/claudio-ranieri-appointed.305709/

It was like he could never accept the sacking of Pearson and found it hard to credit CR for generally anything.

Gangsta gave just as good as he got, and lets face it, he became an icon of negativity. http://www.not606.com/threads/ranieri-out.319830/

No matter what, we're all Leicester fans and im sure even he cracked a smile being top at christmas <ok>

LG liked to have his debate, and fair play for that. Just hope he is well. Inquests into why he is not around seem a little pointless now.

Glad to hear we all have our own "recollection" of how events transpired. That's all that matters.
Hope Gangsta is well and we all move on
    Lovely jubbly

Can't figure you out at the moment AKCJ, have to admit ... you've spent countless hours on other teams boards dishing it out and taking it too ... that's how these forums work - but you seem to have something of a mental blockage about Gangsta's seeming innability to man up and take it after giving it so large when it came back to bite him on the arse...

... to the best of my knowledge, nobody abused him, swore at him. called him derogatory names or suggested he should do one ... in marked contrast to many boards on Not606, - in that regard ours is a veritable kindergarten <laugh> ... if you give it large - as he did - you have to be prepared for getting some flak when you plainly get it wrong ...again which he did - it happens ... but you man up and move on surely? ...

Buck's comment was nothing more than gentle, innocuous humour ... hardly a public flogging of an innocent leaving no alternative but self-imposed exile? <laugh>

As to Gangsta himself - it's a real shame and I'm a bit disappointed in his reaction tbh - he made some absolutely great posts in his time, both witty and insightful - I expected more of him than to slink away because he couldn't face eating a little humble pie ...

I have .. it's not so bad .. especially if you smother it in custard.

I'm only saying that it must have been quite annoying to come into most threads to find another dig at him.

It was a shame that people couldn't celebrate another Leicester win until they'd told Gangsta that he was wrong, again.

I'm mostly annoyed that we've lost a valuable poster.

..OK fair enough - but I only recall a couple of occasions in all that time that he stopped posting (i.e from the Norwich game effectively) and I'd maintain that there was no malice or ill feeling in the 'digs' themselves ...

If by any chance you are still in touch with him, do encourage him back on the board - not saying that he won't have to eat a little humble pie - but I'm pretty sure that he would get a very warm welcome (and no double meaningg intended <laugh>) from just about everyone - he need not be a stranger.

I don't know him. I don't believe there was any harm intended either, but you must concede that it will have been frigging annoying having to defend yourself constantly?

I maintain that the feeling I had about Ranieri was right at the time. He was a big risk and we didn't look like a serious side until we brought Fuchs into the starting XI IMO. By serious I mean that the position we are in is wholly justified. It looked like we were riding a wave that would collapse when Vardy or Mahrez stopped scoring but I can't say I feel that way anymore and am happy for Ranieri to prove me wrong. I would imagine that, like myself, Gangsta doesn't need telling that.

.. .. of course it's annoying to be proved wrong about something ...I hate it - but you just have to smile wryly and put it down to experience or perhaps an instance of poor judgement - it's not the end of the world ...

.. but I really don't get the 'defend himself' bit ... there were no personal attacks ...merely people disputing his very negative views on Ranieri which seemed to have no real foundation (based on how the games were going) other than Gangsta seemingly being unable (or unwilling) to accept any possibility that there might just be life after Nigel..

I'll say no more on it because we should be moving on - other than - I think we have a pretty decent bunch on here - some of the meltdowns on the other boards get very nasty indeed - so on we go..

When I said defend himself, I meant his opinions as there is no way you, Proud, Miami or I would or would have accept repeated personal attacks.

As FF has said, my comment (if it is this one you are referring to) was nothing more than a throw-away comment with no malice attached.

These forums are far more entertaining if there are contributors with diverse views. As long as the post is genuinely someone's opinion and not something ridiculous plucked out of the air just to try and offend then there shouldn't be any problems and we should respect those opinions even if we don't agree with them.

Gangsta's issue was self inflicted, but I don't recall any Leicester poster being offensive towards him - frustrated with him, certainly, but not offensive. He had become so entrenched in his position of supporting Nigel Pearson that nothing was ever going to convince him that any appointee to the manager's job would do better than Pearson would have done. Obviously we will never know whether that is true, but if he'd taken the sensible position of just waiting to see how the season panned out rather than being so sure we were all off to hell in a handcart then we wouldn't be having this thread. So I think it's time for him to stop ghost-writing Lawro's predictions, swallow his pride and return to this board and get it over with once and for all. <laugh>
