I'm sorry that I haven't given an earlier response. I wanted to consult my solicitor. He confirms that you was taking the piss - but states that I wouldn't win any litigation because there is no evidence to prove mens rea. I told him that he was joking - most of you on GC are well into mens rears !

You come on here claiming to be smarter than most of us but a significant proportion of your put downs involve references to us being ****ers or homosexuals. It's hardly MENSA grade stuff is it?
I have made NO 'direct' claim of superior intellect. Any feeling of insecurity others may feel in this respect, is probably the only redeeming quality they may possess. I am no Einstein - nor am I an ignoramus. If I try to engage in a 'reasoned' argument, my efforts are sabotaged by morons who call me a ****, *****, ***** etc. I then try to respond with some compassion - but this just gets shot down. Eventually I have to reduce the level of my vocabulary to the only words that these 'learned' dissenters seem to know. Of course, in those instances, I hope that the more intellectual member, can understand that my repetition of the infantile retorts that some members can only understand, is not aimed at them.

Germany invaded Belgium and violated its neutrality, forcing Britain to enter the war. Germany wanted to be the master of Europe and if it successfully invaded the Low Countries, France and parts of Eastern and Central Europe, it would have been. Our involvement in WWI, along with Russia on the Eastern Front fighting the Germans, Austrians and Turks, stopped that.
Petty border disputes and ethnic nationalism in the Balkans started the conflict but Germany definitely made it a whole lot worse.
