Dodoo just hit the post. He's looked quite a handful since coming on. You can see he's a raw talent, but with good coaching he could turn into a very good player. Reminds me of Sammy Ameobi with his height, pace and trickery.
I think thats one thing our academy struggles with. Turning raw talent into something more rounded. Alot of players look like they have the potential to break into the first team and make their mark but not many have in reason years. Liam Moore and Jeff Schlupp only ones who have been even Schlupp hasnt really had a sniff in his natural position Max Gradel being the prime example.
FT 1-1 Overall a draw is the right result but Conrad Logan will be very disappointed with their goal Very like Peter Whittingham's free kick against us in the play offs where Weale was caught out by the shot
Well just got home after watching the under 21s. What have we learnt from that. Teixera, Samu, Lloyd Jones and Kelly looked good for Liverpool. Knockaert seems to have thrown a paddy second half and had no interest in picking himself up off the ground let alone trecking back. Sesay and Bakayogo looked solid at the back, Hopper and Panayoitou combined well up front but nothing seems to be progressing in midfield at the minute. to be fair thats based on tonights showing, as its the first time ive been down to u21s/reserve game since the good old days of FNF.
I watched it on TV and the only Leicester players who impressed me was Sesay, Knockaert and Cain. While I dont think anyone had a bad game no one else really stood out for us. I think in some ways Knockaert is too good for the development squad as not many of the others players was on the same wavelength as him. Only Michael Cain really linked up with him
Knockaert spent more time on his arse in the second half, would slide in get nowhere near the ball and as they ran upfield with the ball he was left waving his arms and gesturing to thin air. At one point Mccourt gave him a bollicking shouting at him to get up and fair play to him. Dont get me wrong im a big fan of Knockaert and thought he ran them ragged in the first half. But should a reserve team player, need to encourage a player fighting for his first league start of the season to put the effort in for the team?
Alie Sesay should be sent out on loan and then work out if he is good enough. He has been in the reserves for ages and last night he looked impressive at the back. He is built a bit like Wes Morgan and Morgan was a late emerger in his career so maybe Sesay could. Loan move will be the only way we find out anytime soon
I've noticed this from him alot even last season, he has talent but his attitude isn't in the right place, team player he certainly isn't. No point in people wanting him to start behind the strikers when all he does is shoot himself or lose it showing off. Hes the sort of player that will have no fear in handing in a transfer request given any sniff of interest from a higher club.
