She failed as the Shadow Minister for Children and Education between 1999 to 2000.
She failed as Shadow Minister for Health and Community Care between 2000 to 2003.
She even failed as Shadow Minister for Justice between 2003 to 2004.
She even failed as a member of various committees too.
She failed to become the leader of the SNP in 2004.
She failed as the leader of the Scottish Parliament from 2004 to 2007.
She failed as Deputy First Minister in the Scottish Parliament between 2007 to 2012.
She failed as a Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing and in 2012 she was moved sideways as the Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure, Investment and Cities in the Scottish Parliament.
She was defeated in the 2014 Scottish Independence Campaign.
As Salmond resigned as First Minister following the Scottish Independence Campaign and nobody else wanted to accept the poisoned chalice, Sturgeon was appointed First Minister by default.
She failed, as First Minister, even in the three General Elections to increase the SNP vote share above 45%.
She has failed to convince the Scottish electorate that independence is a viable option for Scotland.
She has failed to convince the Scottish electorate that remaining in the EU is a viable option for Scotland.
She has failed to prove to the world that she is a credible leader of the Scottish electorate and worthy of serious consideration.
She failed to secure a mandate for Scottish Independence again in 2019 when 55% of Scottish voters DID NOT vote for the SNP in the general election.”
One of her successes is increasing anti-English sentiment .....

Apparently died in 2016. I remember watching a documentary on him a few years ago. There's probably something on YouTube about him.....
Would you disagree with the image trav put up, that a lot more want to, and have left, escaped socialist countries in favour of capitalist countries ?
But was it his dislike of capitalism the reason behind why he fled or did he defect for another reason?
Well - I disagree with the wording of it obviously because it's wrong. It's smug and condescending - "Take all the time you want" - it took me all of 2 seconds.
In terms of people trying to escape countries where they are oppressed or communist etc obviously to most it seems insanity to want to move to these places. Whatever reason they give - what improvement in life could they gain ? Stories like James Dresnok only make news because of the rarity of these events. I'm sure there are many more instances of this type of thing - we've heard of people leaving the UK who convert to Islam and go and fight for ISIS.
I have no argument that these instances are in a huge minority, it's just the fact that the image is loud, proud and wrong is what I take issue with. These things get posted on FB, Twitter, Instagram etc and huge amounts of people blindly believe this stuff.
But Stereo, the example you’ve quoted is of someone who allegedly fled to escape a Court Martial - he wasn’t primarily escaping Capitalism because of a desire for, and love of, Socialism.
I only posted it because I found it to be slightly amusing - indeed I almost posted it on the joke thread
Vast swathes of people on social media are idiots. I don't care what they believe. Society's doomed. It's really not worth stressing over any more.
You come over as our resident liberal lefty, which is not meant as an insult, as you are one of the rare ones that can debate calmly without the usual hysterics and insults that nearly all other lefties I've come across display with a complete Lack of being able to see both sides of the big issues facing our country which annoys the hell out of the silent majority who are sick of it all !

Taff, I'm not offended or anything by it, my point is only that so many people believe anything they read online and I wish generally everyone was more careful about theses things because it shapes beliefs. To the logical thinking folk, things can seem obvious but as we all know - there's so many idiots out there.
With regards to Dresnok fleeing a 'potential' Court Martial for forging a pass - that was part of his issue I think :
“I was fed up with my childhood, my marriage, my military life, everything,” Mr. Dresnok told the makers of “Crossing the Line,” a 2006 documentary. “I was finished. There’s only one place to go. I crossed over, looking for my new life.”
'Crossing the Line' was the documentary where I came to hear this story.
Whether or not it was a capitalist/socialist thing I doubt, but the driving force was that he was looking for a better life. I would assume that's the case in the majority of instances where people leave one country for another. I moved to Australia looking for a better life.

I must admit, I've never been called a lefty before other than in reference to my left-handedness - and I don't take offence to it.
I see myself as someone who is fair and honest. I don't align myself with any political/religious beliefs etc. I just see things as right or wrong.
I detest racism, elitism, bullies, arrogance, stupidity, cheating, corruption, ignorance and Queen.
I must admit I'm not entirely sure what a lefty is - but again - I just see things as right or wrong.
I also agree with the death penalty.
