Ok, so playing devil's advocate here, what is the answer to this situation? So an eu country, namely Greece wants it's border closed to a mass invasion from Turkey and the eu is doing nothing to help them ? Other than an offer to help from Poland that can see the growing threat, then why is this being allowed to happen ! Not a word from NATO either to its Turkish member to cease and desist this dangerous game !

Go to school, learn a trade, get a job become an entrepreneur . that's how countries develop instead feeding off the good will and charity others .Change the regime if they feel that strongly about it I know its not that simple but its the basics still remain the same.Ok, so playing devil's advocate here, what is the answer to this situation?
Are these people migrants or refugees/asylum seekers?
Where should they go in order to improve their lives?
It's easy to say "you're not coming in here" or "stay in your **** hole country", but the problem would still remain.
What's the answer?
Regime change is the one that could realistically happen, but will end up with more of the same.Go to school, learn a trade, get a job become an entrepreneur . that's how countries develop instead feeding off the good will and charity others .Change the regime if they feel that strongly about it I know its not that simple but its the basics still remain the same.
I agree , but how much more are these countries going to continue take in hand outs before the populace take control of their own destinies. the trouble is its now becoming race to the bottom where a lot of peoples standards of living is in decline rather than improving .We in this country don't know what the meaning of food poverty means in real terms but looking at the decline in health standards in this country and low stagnant wages isn't going to improve when mass migration is allowedRegime change is the one that could realistically happen, but will end up with more of the same.
Obviously, the countries these people are coming from are backward and until that changes nothing will improve. They definitely need outside help that they don't want - especially where religion is a defining factor.
I just think it's easy to judge their situation with our values and situation. It's not so easy when you live in these places. I'm pretty sure I'd be desperate to get out if I were in their situation also. I was just lucky enough to not be born in one of those countries.
I don't have the answers to this - hence playing devils advocate. Just wondering where the politicians have failed maybe someone has a good answer to all this.
As a 'global community' surely this should be everyones problem ? Wouldn't all countries benefit if people didn't have to move around to get out of extreme poverty and persecution etc?
I'm sure there's enough money in the world to sort out a huge amount of it.

I think you've summed up human nature quite well there Dai. Look at Facebook - everyone wants you to think their life is way better than it really is. The more **** you have to show the better off you think you are......I hate to say this but realistically, nothing is going to change at a fundamental level - ever.
No Muslim is going to rebel against Islamic doctrine, no change other than a different loony dictatorship.
The vast majority of the human race runs on greed of various kinds, overwhelmingly monetary and self interested. That's why there is zero chance of affecting climate change, for example, too much money involved for those with the power.
The next, more serious, virus could be a game changer but will probably only mean opportunity for those with a hunger for exploitation. It's just human nature I'm afraid and it will never change (for the better). Do you think I'm too pessimistic?![]()
