    BBC says 1st July though we can sign players before hand but contracts not transferred until 1st July...

    Does that mean we can pay Lille now, but then Gervinho reject the contract when the time comes.

    No, he would sign the contract with us, we would pay Lille but his registration documents and contract would be held until 1st July when they would officially be transferred to us. It would still be a done deal.

    We can only agree terms with players whose contracts are currently held in England and Scotland so anything to do with Gervinho would be a pre-contract agreement until the 1st July when Lille would be paid once he signs the binding contract.
