@StringerSport: So #LCFC target Leo Ulloa could cost up to £10m according to @AndyNaylorArgus of The Argus newspaper - http://t.co/AKNCIvpx2H - Thoughts?
Firstly, Would this make him your most expensive signing in the current team then? And secondly Can you afford him?...
By the latter stages, we were playing our best available team, but for the earlier games there were 6-9 changes from the previous Premier League team. Livermore played in the second game, Huddlestone didn't play in either and I obviously remember him scoring, I just can't remember anything about him. Not sure why I posted really, I've no idea if he's worth £10m, or £10.
Fair enough, that's what I wasn't sure of, so it was a fairly weakened team Ulloa played against but he scored the goals so if he does that again we'll not be complaining! Having said that, in the semi-final, it was going forward you were strongest and not at the back from what I saw
You're not alone there! The youtube footage is great, but we've seen that make average players look good before. The only times I remember seeing him was against us (we were poor, promotion hangover) and in the play-offs (saw nothing exceptional in him there over two legs). But I trust Pearson's judgement - he's the expert, and his record with signings is outstanding.
But the reason the Prozzie thread ran and ran was because in pre-season, we questioned your expensive signing of an unknown, untested player, and the sharp responses we got back were along the lines of "Bruce has been tracking him for years", "he knows what he's doing" and even the occasional "he'll outscore your new non-league signing (Vardy)". So naturally, every time another game went by and Prozzie failed to score (which was most games), the thread floated back to the top. This situation is not really the same for reasons stated in my last thread (he's not unknown and untested and the fee at this level is about standard) and because our fan base is pretty split over the signing. Some of us find it difficult to stand confidently by a player when they believe he may not be able to cut it (but some are doing). Some are already calling it a mistake. So if this thread does run, it would be more a case of "civil war" with some of the Leicester saying "I told you so" rather than you lot. But hopefully it will disappear, because that will mean he has been a success.
... a mix of Allan Young and Allan Smith ... scare the **** out of opposition defenders with his physical presence (he is excellent in the air btw) and a clinical finisher when he gets the opportunity ... for me it will coe down to the service ... if we can put the ball in the right place from wide , then I think he could be a real gem ... he'll certainly get stuck in ...
That all makes sense. I actually like the lad and tbh the fees are all a load of bollocks to me. If the clubs stay in the top league then shedloads of wonga come your way. If you go down then shedloads of good players leave and shedloads of crappier players come in. I've just remembered, the shed needs clearing out. I have the partners mother coming at the weekend and she needs somewhere to stay.
Have kept my thoughts to myself regarding Ulloa. Will not comment on a price we pay for a player, unless they are free. Consequently, in my mind, it will not be a case of money well spent, or money down the drain. It will simply be a case of will he fit in to the team ethic, and will he do well. Haven't seen enough of him to be excited or disappointed. The Brighton fans obviously rate him, so I will welcome him, and hope he succeeds. The majority of signings made under Pearson have been good/superb, with only a few failures (free signings at that). Looking at Foxestalk, half of our lot are going to get on his back if he hasnt scored in the first 5 games. The fixtures we have in those games, I will be delighted if we score at all.
Who is this, Proud? I don't use Twitter (well, not in my personal life) so no idea if this is a legit source or some nobody. EDIT: A google search tells me he's a journo on the local Brighton rag. Fairly legit then!
Done deal and will be announced in the morning http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/11355957.Ulloa_completes_Leicester_move/?ref=rss
I think that's about right Barwell. It's a good point, whether we support this signing or not, when he pulls on the shirt, he is a Fox. We should support him and also be patient if it doesn't happen immediately. I know it's a cliché and I know some people hate to hear it, but it's a fact that some players do need time to bed in. If some fans had their way, we'd have lost Vardy and Drinkwater last summer (not to mention the manager), so lets hope we've all learn a bit about patience since then.
Evening Foxes What concerns me although I trust Nigel's judgement 100%, we will be spent 10m on at best at the moment what seems to be a quality championship striker. I have not seen enough of this guy to form a solid opinion but surely Leicester would have had him watched many times. I am hoping he is a class act and can step up to the quality needed and ruthlessness finishing needed in the Premier League. We all know what Leicester City fans expect and that is once you don the Blue shirt you work your F@@@@@g Arse off, he will be allowed a settling in period but not for long before he will be expected to produce the goods Can't wait for the first game
