Writing is on the wall now @SkySportsPeteO: Brighton are closing in on the signing of Barnsley striker Chris O'Grady. #barnsleyfc #bhafc I think they have given up on keeping him and just trying to get as much out of us as possible
@RobTannerMerc: Just been told by sources in Brighton that a bid for just over £7M for Ulloa has now been accepted. #lcfc
Yep, social media has blown up with this news. Apparently Inigo Calderon was in tears when he heard the news.
Looking good ... about to become our 'record signing' http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/L...loa-Brighton/story-21653774-detail/story.html
I know nothing about Delort. I think Chris Wood could learn a lot off Ulloa Playing 2 big men might work away from home. Then last 20 mins just smash them with Vardy and Nugent's pace
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIZ_wEEkL8U One thing to note is that he really is a 'finisher' rather than creating chances, which we probably miss in the squad. I imagine that him and Vardy could work well given Vardys work rate but i also think that Wood has a good role to play off the bench this season.
Im in the minority camp that thought he was was pretty average against us when we lost 4-1. We flattered him so much and made him look good. I know he got 2 and did well in the air every now and then but apart from our shocking defending he looked completely ineffectual. Will glady gobble my words is he turns out to be better than what Ive seen though.
To be honest I have been impressed with him since Brighton signed him I wouldn't judge anyone from either side for our game with them last season
Can't disagree. O'Grady is no superstar but you can't argue with his scoring record. I'll be interested to see how he does.
To be fair Boris I always have a pop at other fans who say our players are average after seeing them play once or twice. I'll let you off though lol. Seriously though I think this is a cracking signing and not bad value either
... I'm with you Miami ... indeed have set myself up to be shot down as I've been an 'enthusiast' from this one from the start ... got a good mate who is a Brighton fan ( season ticket holder - indeed we played footie together for many years and he is a fair player and fair judge of players IMO) ... ribbed him at the start of the season about the Seagulls becoming our version of a Tesco Express (convenience purchases) and he responded by saying we could have Upson because, despite an excellent season, he was 'getting on' ... but no way could we have Ulloa who was the best player he had seen them have for many a year ... ... let's face it he has already had a cracking start ... the phrase "Akinbiyi, record signing" looks like being exorcised from my psyche...
I look on with interest at this signing as i too did not think too much of Ulloa being an outstanding striker, 23 goals in 50 apps for Brighton though but can he do it in the Prem. I agree with an earlier comment that we badly need a finisher as Nuge & Vardy wont get 10 chances in the Prem and only put 1 away. Cost the Seagulls 2m so good business for them laughing all the way to the bank. Just hope he can produce the goods.
