Leon Britton : Can we get one more season ...

Don't tell Collymore that as on talksport on Saturday, he was saying all teams need a Leon. For his energy, passing ability and ability to break the play up.

I 've watched as many streamed practices before games as I could find and even when Britton wasn't playing , and every time I seen him doing a drill you could see he was running harder than anyone . I guess Monk wasn't watching ....Beyond his good play at what he does best , a guy with the stature of Leon Britton brings the best out of other players just by being out there , especially defenders knowing he has their back .

 

If ever a player was part of the fabric of a club it's Leon. It's a shame he'll have to retire from playing eventually. Criminal that he never got an international call up.

 

Nobody is questioning Leon's fitness or that he can still do an adequate job for us SOMETIMES. I lost count at the number of times he has been subbed this season but its clear he cant do many full 90 minutes before he is left out altogether. Now the question is can he do another season so my answer is yes as a replacement like he was this season but we need much younger and better if we are to progress.....We should be looking to improve the squad which is evident by this season and using aged players other than a stop gap is not the way forward.....

 

I do agree to a certain degree, but what I do think there are a lot more players in our squad that need replacing before Leon.
