TEAM NEWS Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted at making changes to his starting line-up for the first time in seven league matches. Winger Demarai Gray missed Sunday's win over Everton after showing flu symptoms and he is a doubt to face Watford. Hayden Mullins will be in temporary charge for Watford following the sacking of Quique Sanchez Flores. Kiko Femenia is a fitness doubt and his absence would further deplete an injury-hit defence. Craig Dawson, Christian Kabasele, Daryl Janmaat, Sebastian Prodl, Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck and Daniel Bachmann are all still unavailable. MOTD COMMENTATOR'S NOTES Martin Fisher: Two clubs heading in very different directions. Leicester City rubbing shoulders with the Premier League elite; Champions League football beckons next season. Watford marooned in the relegation zone; the Championship is calling them next season. On Sunday, they sacked their second head coach of the campaign in the desperate hope that another change will provide the solution. Finding any answers at Leicester seems unlikely. The Foxes are flying. Sunday's stoppage-time win over Everton was their sixth in a row. Some argue they could pose the biggest threat to Liverpool's title bid, and many Leicester fans consider this side to be better than Claudio Ranieri's champions of 2016. VIEW FROM THE DUGOUT Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers on a congested run of fixtures: "It isn't possible to play the same team in every single game. We've had one game a week [until now], the team is in rhythm and we've had no injuries, so any changes we've had to make have been during the game. There's no doubt that over these next few weeks, like every team, we have to consider how we want to play in order to bring energy and intensity in the games." Watford interim head coach Hayden Mullins: "I'm comfortable doing the game tomorrow, it's fantastic. In terms of the future games, who knows. It's down to the club. I've been staying very late. Late nights and early mornings. You wake up at five and you've got loads of things going around your head and thoughts and ideas and bits and pieces and it's good, there's loads of things going on. We know we're facing a very good side in Leicester, so obviously that's the main challenge that's facing us at the moment. They've got loads of pace in the team and they're a big threat."
We have played better against the top teams generally apart from Man City . But cannot see much hope for us . Vardy always scores for starters !
I know we look in a precarious position at the moment but we have to stop and think about the vast progress the club has made in the last few years. Even if we go down I am convinced our owners are with us for the long haul. We have an excellent ground which provides comfortable and affordable live football. It is not unreasonable to expect teams like us, Burnley, Norwich, West Brom, Bournemouth CP etc to experience the occasional drop back into the championship. We have no right to demand constant top tier football without any blips, perhaps this dose of reality is not such a bad thing. COYH's
Jas on the FTRE podcast was saying something very similar this week. Maybe (unfortunately) it’s just our turn to be one of those three (which, of course, it has to three every season) to face the drop. I’ve not given up hope yet, but for tonight, we never get anything at the King Power normally, let alone this season!
Will be out tonight so cannot join you but when I get home I can watch the replay on my Amazon FireStick - wouldn't it be great if Amazon did what the do on the US networks and show every game every week. Potential stuffing here I'm afraid but I hope Mullins does well. Enjoy the game all, if at all possible, don't be glum.
Woodburner roaring away, just opened a nice bottle of Rioja, early dinner then watch the footie. Whatever happens tonight we'll still be supporting our Hornets this time next year.
Decent enough 1st half. No playing out of defence, just get it up the field. Rather the same as Leicester.
Didn't deserve that. A nothing penalty, he was desperate to give them something, anything! As for the idiot pundit burley, what a divbrain.
Probably gave it because they should have had one in the 1st half apprantley? Leicester always seem to get one against us !
