But this is what happens when you cultivate a culture of selling people off and being a stepping stone club. Players see our club as a club where a young player, such as one around THB’s age when we got him, can play a couple years before getting a ‘proper’ move on to a ‘proper’ club. It started as having a few players who we would treat like that, now it is the entire squad. As much as the Poch/Koeman years are the golden years unfortunately it really set us on a path that’s mad it near impossible to build an actual team. Because to build a team you need a plan, drive and consistency. All we do is buy young, cheap and look to sell within 2/3 years. Eventually you will be left with a squad of mercenaries who all think they’re better than the ****ty stepping stone club theyre at and want their ‘proper’ move on. Just looking at the squad who is anyone that comes anywhere near being a next JWP? Let alone a Lambert, Fonte, Benali or Le Tiss. We have completely lost our identity.
Well that’s me finished this season. ST is now binned. Tbh, I had difficulty to get to the last two but after this shambles of a “performance” I just can’t bear it anymore. Thought we’d at least compete today but omg we are truly awful (edit) against a championship side. On a plus, we stopped Steptoe from scoring his 200th - well done Saints.
I truly have never hated a Saints team as much as this one. You could forgive the awful Portvleit and Wotte teams, they were working with nothing and were playing kids. These lot could not give any less of a **** about the club, the fans or their own reputation. The worse thing is, these bottle job ****s will just frolic off to new teams in the summer while we try and build a team around Will ****ing Smallbone. I genuinely think since we're ****ed next season, cash in on every last one of them and hope Dragan and the rest of his ****ing cowboys sell up. Twats
