We'd already signed Morrison before the end of the window, Maiga was the last-minute deal after Harry had announced we'd done all our business. It's inexplicable...
We have some sore losers in here The table doesn't lie Credit to the Foxes I am cross with our club because we are 20 points behind the Foxes ... Good luck to them but sorry foxes fans But this season all the teams in this division are poor except Wigan We have been very poor at times Any club with the money we have spent and only making play offs should be ashamed Said from day one Stephen got us playing and look what we done to Derby with a team of unknowns Harold without doubt IMO worse manager we have had and proud I said that from day one
I don't understand that. I thought we played very well yesterday. We definitely did not deserve to lose that and our midfield actually looked very balanced for a change. Redknapp made 7 changes yet this weakened side stepped up to the plate and had we had Austin on instead of Maiga I'm confident we would have won. Sooper, you're complaining about competing in the Playoffs but a lot of people said a couple of months ago that we'd end up mid-table when we were going through that awful patch. When the Semis come round, we might for the first time have a near fully-fit squad to choose from. Far from it being over, the excitement is just starting to build with the season reaching a crescendo!
If you enjoyed that you're easily pleased. As for the play-offs my point is that we seem to have given up challenging Derby for 3rd place and now seem to be letting Wigan nick 4th which means we play away in the 2nd leg, a distinct disadvantage. The team is being changed ad nauseam which is hardly helping in set patterns of play and 'gelling', something which hasn't really happened all season. Wigan are the best footballing team in the league and over two games we'll have to produce an exceptional improvement to get past them. I'll be first to sing Harry's praises and admit I was wrong if he pulls this off...
When was the last time wigan have actually beat us? I would not be so afraid of them. IMO we played quite good football yesterday with our "reserve team" so whats the matter? Ps. 27.08.2011 Wigan beat us 2-0 at JB Stadium. After that 2 wins for us and 3 draws in 5 matches between QPR and Wigan so not an extreamly bad opponent for us....
Interesting to see what team he puts out tomorrow. There was a feeling yesterday that he was saving players for the playoffs. Maybe Harry had written that game off before it started. Surely he needs to get the strongest team playing together before the playoffs. No team will want us in the playoffs and Harry is the kind of manager to get lucky - he's made a career of it!
I dont give a **** what they think its just a statistic fact and shows that at least they are not A bogey team to us like norwich etc.
Correct, Igor. You're not so terrible when you're on form are you mate?!! These dozy stats mean diddly squat. Anyone remember what Palace were like going into the Playoffs last year? They were on a woeful run and ended up barely squeezing into it. A year later and they look like finishing in the top half of the Prem!
Yes and somehow we can play quite well against them no matter whose in form or not. Nevertheless i know i am swordieboy!
First of all, the usual disclaimer - play offs are a lottery, form goes out the window, predictions are worse than useless. That said, the only scenario I'd like to avoid is QPR in the final. I think you've got too many big game players for that to be in our favour. If we were able to get to the final it would be our fifth visit to Wembley in thirteen months but that "home advantage" would be offset by being outnumbered three to one in the stands, and being up against as I say a number of big game players. So if we have to play you I'd like to do it over two legs. Ideally with the second leg at home. We've had a wobble for a few weeks, only winning two out of our last seven including the semi. But the performance against Reading was the best I've seen all season - no exaggeration.. They played like getting knocked out of the Cup had freed them up to concentrate on the league. Our first ever European campaign, FA Cup semi-finalists, and probably in the play offs. Feels like it has been a great season already, though a long one.
Speaking of swords, there were loads of Vikings in town today from all over Scandinavia taking part in the Clontarf millennial festival. Were you one of those fierce sword-wielding warriors I saw today Igor?
Im afraid i was not swordie. I was at work and after that i went to sauna and have taken several beers after that. Oh yes and couple of drinks too
