I know, mate. No worries. Very interesting with Manchester United links so strong, PF. How would you call this game?
Even If they were former United reserve team players there's a reason they are no longer at the club. They weren't good enough. Whether they can raise their game sufficiently at being so affronted at not being kept on remains to be seen. They might well and I hope they do as it'll be a good contest. From our point of view though all we want is to kick on from last weekend and get some momentum going so going to Leicester is a better proposition that going to Chelsea for instance, not saying it'll be easy by any means but it's more straightforward. Same applies to West Ham next week. Then it's Everton and we start to up the ante as to how far we might be progressing.
Lawro and lennon predictions: 1-1 both. We should really be beating the likes of Leicester (with due respect of course).
Really don`t see where Smalling helps at the moment, he is fith choice centre back and can`t play any other position. In another 12-18 months he may be a very good centre back, but at the moment he is behind Rojo, Jones, Evans and Blackett in my opinion.
I can see why he's fifth behind those three but don't see how he can improve in that time scale if he is fifth choice? Unless he leaves. I think he's ahead of Blackett once he's fit myself, not that that makes a huge difference.
Blackett is already better positionally and a lot calmer (and better) on the ball. Smalling still has a couple of years to reach his potential in my opinion as CD`s tend to settle down and mature around mid to late twenties.
By saying this, what i mean is I wouldn`t write Smalling off right now. He can make it, but at the moment seems to have gone backwards, if because of injury, playing time or not being in a settled defence I can`t say but i do know he is our weak link at CD at the moment.
There will be more United youth products lining up against you on Sunday than playing for you ... a sobering thought ...they won't all play of course ... but potentially... Danny Drinkwater Matty James Richie De Laet Danny Simpson Tom Lawrence Nick Powell (on loan so can't play) ... for those of you travelling I hope you have a nice day out in the beautiful Roman city of Leicester and that seeing some of your former prospects helps to cushion the discomfort of your mini revival being abruptly ended
We all already know the QPR was a fluke win, we are fully prepared for a relegation battle with you at the end of the season
... why thank you .... in the same vein as Liverpool are s**t Champions candidates? ... ie they won't win the league and we won't be relegated ... irrespective I'll look forward to our customary 3 points when visiting Anfield
Tbh if we beat liverpool liverpool fans would tell us how **** liverpool are. Or maybe some corruption. Yeh thats probably it. No united win is just a win. Darker forces are at work herw.
