King goes missing in scrappy games, James will get his foot on the ball and put tackles in

Nugent has scored 8 goals this season regardless of how he scored that decent. As good as Vardy has been he only has 4 goals, Chris Wood just has a smack in the face to show for all his contribution in the league this season. So there really isnt anyone pushing Nugent

While yes at times he has been poor but we dont have anyone to take his place

I would rather be "stupidly defensive" rather then having someone going missing. Matty James showed last season he is capable of creating chances aswell as scoring his fair share

Chris Wood has scored with every opportunity he's got.

Yet Nugent stays in the team despite scoring 1 goal from open play in the league (maybe 2).

King doesn't go missing. His positioning is immense, his passing is quality and his tackling has improved no end. Add the fact that we know he's got a goal in him and you've got a very good championship footballer. People who think he goes missing don't watch him closely enough, obviously DD plays all the passes and gets the attention because he's the player we play through.

I'd rather we didn't go away playing 4-5-1 against sides we should be beating. Why are we not playing Wood and Vardy with Schlupp and Dyer on the wings?

Instead we've got square pegs in round holes and we've changed the formation we've looked in solid all season.

I'd rather go out to win games than get a 0-0 draw or a 1-0 loss. Genuinely don't think we've got it takes to get back into this without changing it.

Andy King has had an effort pushed over the bar by the keeper ... one of the reasons he's in the team is that he does get into attacking positions and generally gets his efforts on the target (as he did or Wales in the week) ... Nuge has already put one wide of the goals ... and therein lies the problem ... not that Proud will ever admit there is one ... it's just me having it in for Nuge <laugh>

I'm amazed that Moore and King have been taken off.

    Ridiculous.

Whereas Nugent with 4 goals from open play in 37 matches stays on. Excellent.

When have I said there isnt a problem? Nugent isnt perfect, at times he is very wasteful but thats why he is a championship striker. Either accept our players have faults or you will spend alot of time pulling your hair out.

King has player pushing for his place, while Nugent doesnt. AKCJ saying Wood has scored every opportunity he was struggling and hasnt made any sort of impact in the league this season

We arent coverting enough chances as a team

King has also been busy on international duty ... I suspect that's a factor ...

1 observation of Nugent is he seems to have lost that yard of pace. He wasnt never lightning fast but he has decent pace. He now seems very slow and doesnt run as much as he used to

As I have said Nugent poor form says just as much about him as the other strikers. If a striker is allowed to play on everyweek with this sort of form why havent Wood, Vardy, Schlupp or Waghorn managed to stake a starting claim ahead of him?

Well lets look at the games he's started.

    4 games this season.

5 goals, one being a penalty.

    Nugent?

    13 games this season.

7 goals, 6 being penalties (Wood has been the penalty taker for every other club he's played for)

Wood has failed to score in only one game he's started this season.

But because he's scored obviously you're right and because you've stuck by him you're a better fan than us.

Theres a reason why Wood wasnt starting. He wasnt producing the goods and Vardy and Nugent were.

David Nugent has 9 goals and 5 assists this season

Im not defending him as at times he has been poor but im not going to make a scapegoat out of him either.
