Hes over-rated imo because hes come from Man U, he was good for us on loan years ago, but has been really poor the last couple of years until Sherwood took over.
Could Liam Moore play in a central back 3? He looked out of his depth in a back 2 last season and got very exposed, but that was alongside Wes who was dire for the first two thirds of the season, and neither played with any confidence. He could learn a lot if he had someone experienced like Huth guiding him. We had high hopes for him this time last year, but he has lost his way a bit. But he is still young and has some pace - at least as much as McAuley I suspect. If it worked out then he could become a long term prospect. He looked very comfortable in the Championship until he got injured. I know the Championship is a long way from the Prem, but he is still only young and maybe just needs another chance. Plus I can't stand the thought of him going to join the circus at Leeds. No one deserves that.
Well if he has a future at the club, he will have to adapt eventually, as our ambition is to remain in the top flight. I think he'll make it, and I think he will get another chance this season. But with three centre backs playing regularly, we'll need at least two as cover.
Mirror is reporting that we will bid £2.5M for Huth. That is a very strong bid for an injury prone 30 year old.
... Top can draw that from petty cash ... Seriously BF King Power is one of the World's largest brands (Top 50) ... it's not about the money money as the song goes ...
Would happily pay that for what he showed last season, but would still like another CB like Chester, someone to develop rather than someone who will retire with us.
I would take both Huth and Chester Get Huth in for around £3M and Chester £5M with a few add ons and thats the defence sorted for less then £10M which is good going
@SkySportsNewsHQ: BREAKING: West Brom defender Gareth McAuley signs one-year contract extension. #SSNHQ Thank god thats the end of that
He's a CB. He could have another five years in him easy. As far as being injury prone, I don't think he miss one game for us. Now Matt Upson...
... just pay the guy to stay FFS ... no question that we need him ... and somebody get on the phone to Pirlo ... just in case
I think Liam could play in a back 3 organized by Huth ... the problem for Liam was that Wes was out of his depth until Huth arrived...
You may have to double that to get us to play ball , in all fairness I don't see much business being done between us , still think there is a bit of bad blood there with our owners , he won't sell anybody to Pearson .
That seems like alot for someone not exactly setting league 1 on fire. Lets hope Steve Walsh has found the next Yaya Toure.
