Two sides of a story expressed very well by all here. We need to strike a balance between having ambition and not over-spending. Spanish is right about the state of football today, money talks and more and more riches are coming into the game from outside investment. On the other hand we've seen what can happen when you throw big contracts about and get relegated, Pompey etc. Leicester for sure have the financial clout to buy who they like and offer the right wages but we have to be careful about trying to keep up with the Jones'. We have to work within our own means and in that respect JWM is right with his points about not needing to throw money around just to make a good team. A fine line between the two needs to be found. Sure you have to spend to accumulate but does it always have to be in the current transfer window. Great teams are not made overnight so like most,if I can see real progress after the last couple years then I think we are doing things right. There will always be someone who is richer or better than you but all you can do is do your best. p.s Spanish Well done for giving up smoking. I chose the big move from Amsterdam to here for my time to stop. Smoked my last at the airport and haven't had one since (7months). It's much easier than people make out if you have any willpower at all. I figured stopping after I'd moved meant I would not make new habits here (like going on the balcony to smoke after dinner etc) but if you are in the same house you miss certain things. Anyway, stick with it mate, hope you are not too much of a monster to Mrs Spanish
