That just reeks of bitterness. Get over it. We can spend money on players and the Leicester fans will 'continue to lap it up and try to justify it' because we can. NP's scouting network is superb. Ask the Hull fans and they'll tell you that they were more annoyed that the scouts went, they're THAT good. If NP and the owners think that Vardy is worth 1m then I would even suggest we've got him in on the cheap because they've never over spent on any player and they never will. Bates won't sign anyone for decent money, realise that and stop these sort of stupid posts when another club signs a player.
We don't spend anywhere near enough, you're right, but that doesn't stop £1m for a non-league striker being ridiculous fee and a move that reeks of desperation.
It is a bad thing, at least on paper, for a championship club aiming for promotion to sign a non league striker who's never played in the football league for £1m. If it all goes well and he scores 40 goals and you win promotion by 20 points, then great, it's obviously been a good deal. But you've got to see how it looks absolutely ridiculous - £1m for a non league striker?!
£1m for a non-league striker is desperate. You seem to happy buying any player for any money. What neither you or Bates seems to understand is that it's about finding the right financial balance between over and under spending.
But you have not listened. Our scouting network is stunningly good. We've not paid a penny over what a player is 'worth' under NP. I'll be amazed if he's not as good as most other Championship striker bought in the region of 1m. Vardy will have been scouted over and over. He's a player we've wanted since January and clubs like Fulham have been apparently interested. I've not seen a single person that has seen him play (enough times to have a good opinion) say he won't make the step up. He has the right attitude and work ethic as well as having top finishing, heading and pace. He'll play either on the wing or up front and will probably be a squad player coming off the bench every so often and starting every so often. I think Beckford will leave and we'll sign another striker with Howard and Vassell also leaving so it's not like we're pinning our hopes on him. Plus, you must realise, £1m is **** all to the Owners. Literally spare change. If it works and we get £90m for it then great. If not then it's like losing a quid for the owners and we'll look elsewhere and sell him for about 300k to some League 1 side.

Of course not because they're not rolling in money. Fact is we paid for a player we were interested in. End of story. It's a risky signing (well it would be if we were skint but you get the jist) but by no means is it desperate for christ sake. Bidding 7m for Nicky ****ing Maynard was desperate.
