Depending what the original sum was this may be bad news for us... https://www.lcfc.com/news/625538/lcfc--efl-settle-ffp-dispute/press-release
A drop in the ocean for them after their Premier win followed by Champion's League money and the new PL deal. The bad news for us is they've paid and possibly undermined our efforts to overturn it...
I picked up on that story as well. I guess if you're a Prem club, ex-Champions then you will be treated differently. we will probably get £60M fine
The shame for me is that I feel we have the crux of a good squad with some talented youth coming through . I feel with some intelligent spending , some influential loans and the right coaches in place we could push on but before this all gets sorted I fear we may lose out best players . Real shame .
So, our appeal on validity is pending. If we succeed, Leicester will want their money back from the FL. If we lose, we can use the modest Leicester fine to attack the £40 million fine the FL want to levy on us. Presumably, our appeal will be in open court (to the Court of Appeal). If not, why not?
Apparently Leicester's losses were £20.8 million which was £12.8 million over the £8 million allowed. They claimed £13 million was 'allowable'. If that ratio is used for our losses we will have to pay around £15 million...
Leicester tried to claim it was £8 million which would be right on the limit but the EFL argued it was nearer £21 million according to this article. The financial smoke and mirrors here makes TF's £60 million write-off look like schoolboy economics... https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ball-league-financial-fair-play-investigation
We're we worse than them Should we expect a low fine as well When did 3.1million become small change that we wish to be fined and not 50 Do you prefer the Campbell's or the tates
