Not really embarassing - ihe wants to prove himself at Championship level so he can move to a Premier League club and be first choice there. It's just what I think anyway, because he's always been ambiguous about his future and only signed a 2 year contract to begin with. He left Man City to get first team football at Notts then turned down Premiership offers to go to us, so he could get first team, with an eye on being able to move to a Prem team in the future. Schmeichal's better than Ankergren, and it's not like Kasper isn't committed on the pitch.
He has a bad attitude on the pitch though. Same ability now as Ankergren had - average shotstopper with flashes of excellence but a poor command of the box and average distribution. Thing is, Schmeichel's now started flapping at shots, punching any cross away which he can get his hands on, making glory saves for the cameras whenever he has the chance even if it'd be easier just to catch it and he has a terrible rapport with the defense, yelling at them for everything even when he's the one who's cocked up, something which happened on numerous occasions. He clearly doesn't give a damn about being at Leeds United, let's find someone who does; we still have a great chance to cash in and replace while people are still deceived by his surname.
I think that's a bit unfair. He's better than Ankergren. Ankergren made some great saves, but he dropped the ball all the time. Schmeichel punches crosses, but I'd rather that than Ankergren catching them and dropping them. Also his distribution is better. He's not committed to the club, but his attitude on the pitch is good. I agree he's overated because of his name, but he does make some fantastic saves - against Arsenal he virtually kept us in the game, and Fabregas even commented after that he hoped he got man of the match. He's a good shot stopper, but he'll get better. I think that we should cash in but only if we get someone better in. I wouldn't be too happy with Longergran who's just been relegated.
To be honest, I don't think we're even in for Kilkenny, the whole deal seems to be taking place in his agents head.
I don't actually think second half of the season Kasper was a better 'saver' or indeed a better distributor than Ankergren. His kicking went way downhill since his injury and cost us possession many times, sparking very few attacks and, crosses aside, there were some pretty weak shots I'd be expecting a United goalkeeper to be saving which Schmeichel let in. I try not to rate anyone based on the cup ties; everyone raises their game for those performances and for instance Alex Bruce's show at the Emirates seems to be a niggling reason people why some people still want him here. As for attitude, I think he has a negative effect on the defense with all his bile he screams. Leave that to the captain and manager and tell them where to be positioned, he tries to play the hero too much and, despite all the talk about not following identically in his dad's footsteps, that's precisely what he's trying to do with little success. And in my opinion, it makes him seem a bit big-headed, self-before-side and uncommitted. I do accept I'm harsh on the guy. As for Lonergan, he could be good or he could be ****e but I wouldn't rule him out just because he's got relegated. For the most part, their defense was horrendous and a couple of seasons ago, they were an established side in the Championship defending quite solidly. Not really sure who else is around; I heard Joe Lewis of Peterborough was on a free but not sure if that was true.
Its very important for a keeper to be talking to his defence constantly. Keeps keepers in the game as its so easy to switch off, I know this as I converted to a keeper a few years ago. As for young Kasper, would love to see what he can do with a decent back four protecting him as I rate him & he will get better. Personally I think he is twice the player Ankers was even though he has made his fair share of blunders.
Sky Sports now confirming you are 'considering' a £1m bid for Kasper from LCFC. Reading some quotes elsewhere, it also appears you're going for Woodgate, Bowyer and Smith. You'll be going back for Nigel Martyn when Schmeichel goes to join up with Sven

We've accepted a bid from Leicester, not sure how much yet. If it's only 1 million I'll be a tad miffed.
well...that is a shocker.....i wonder if he had a clause an amount he could go for..... im very shocked and dissapointed ........ especially if he is going to that shower of S..t ...
We're not a selling club anymore. Well, we will see IF we ever find out the ammount he has gone for. Sends a signal out to others who maybe pondering a bid on Gradel who also only has a year to run.
i get that so does that mean now we sell eveyone for a million...we should have kept him to see if he would have been a part of a promotion team insted we sell him to one of our rivals for promotion.....i just dont get it..... Gradel to be sold this week for 1.5m then.... A F***ing disgrace once again....
