We're all behind the team roof and want them to do well, that's why we get so upset when they under achieve and play as poorly as they did yesterday. We were awful, again, woeful in attack, wide open in midfield and we might as well have played our under 23's in defense for all the good Fede and Amat were doing, they were that bad. Personally, if I was the manager, I'd fine the ****ers for such an inept display. We were so lucky that Leicester aren't all that right now and they only managed two goals against us. They had one out, one ball which they played constantly to the only player they've got, Vardy, we knew it and still we couldn't defend against it nor, as was to be expected, set pieces, another shambles, I'm looking for positives but I just don't see any. Can anyone tell me what out tactics were? what our formation was supposed to be ? why our defense was playing so high against Vardy, what were we trying to achieve on the pitch? what the **** were we trying to do? We have a decent squad, good enough to at least compete in most games, but they are being coached into playing the worst football we've played since Jonhny Hollins was manager. I take no solace either in the unfounded knowledge that somewhere in the premier league there are three teams worse than we are. Who? is the question to ask there. Last year Guidolin was saved by Curtis and Siggy, this year he's being exposed, the Itlalian is not good enough to coach in the Premier League and certainly not good enough for us. Them Yanks employed him so I hope their watching him closely. If they are then yesterday, just like last week they'd have seen nothing, absolutely nothing to get excited about.
Probably the best post I've seen on yesterday's game. On Guidolin, like Valley and some others I was unconvinced when we offered him a contract despite him keeping us up but did feel he deserved a crack at it this season as it was difficult to argue with the points achieved under him. It's very, very early but it does look as if our earlier fears were well founded. Personally I wouldn't say he's not good enough - at least not yet. The guy has proved he can win games, difficult games, at this level and we are only a few games in. Having said that it's not looking good and anyone who says otherwise can not have watched the last couple of games in the league. We have been bloody awful. Some will no doubt say that the Board are to blame as they haven't forked out for the quality CB Guidolin requested, and I get that. But a manager has to work with what he's got and the tactics employed yesterday were embarrassingly bad. I can't bring myself to watch it back on MOTD.
That's because he is ****ing clueless. I didn't want him when he was appointed and he done nothing to change my mind, We still look shapeless, clueless, rudderless and lack any sort of heart. he is incapable of playing anything other than defensive negative football. We conceded more goals than any other club from set plays, last season and we have already conceded 2 in 3 games. So much for he would put it right. I think someone said he is here because he is a yes man and I cant disagree, any manager who allows a man who knows 4/5 of **** all about spotting a player to pick his signings is a worry for me. I know people say don't panic it is early days, well I m panicking because we look a lot worse this season than last, I would get rid of him now before it is to late. We are going 100 mph backwards and with out a change soon we will be playing championship football next season. Someone mentioned Klinsman I would bite your hand off.
We have lost quality and bought some one day wonders, The catalyst that bound the team together is lost and now we find ourselves in disarray with no defined game plan and players that simply does not know where their team mates are. There is no shape to the team at all and that is the fault of three things.....First the yanks have put Jenkins overall in charge of something he has limited knowledge about and that is the playing side of things and second we have Guildo who is a nice chap but is a yes man who quite frankly is out of his depth in the hardest league in the world to get right. Its not about whether you win lose or draw as all teams will do that. It is the way we are playing the game with lack of understanding by the players and this is effecting the better players like Gylfy for example....And thirdly the yanks are doing sod all about it and are more concerned with the expansion than what is happening on the pitch and they dont seem to understand that the expansion will be useless without doing well in the premiership......
We have a strikeforce that never started a game, with us , one that broke our transfer record who hasn't got a minute in . We lost the heart and soul of our defence that has centred the team for about 8 years , and it will take time to sort it out . Ki was our 2 nd highest scorer 2 seasons ago . He was bad the first 15 or so games , like almost every other player for those games under Monk then got injured . Ki will be key in a Cork, Siggy , Ki combo after a few more games IMO . Another 6 or so games and I'll be confident that our team will be gelled and I'll fear no team . Everyone else has their opinion on how bad or good we are this season , but I think we will be a quality , working team by Halloween , if things are still scary by then I'll rethink . 3 GAMES IN GENTS , give it some time .If not , carry on panicking .
We dont look like a team capable of being a good side under Guildo........we really dont....we will win the odd game here and there but not enough to save us from the drop....
We look very rusty I'll admit, but it is still early doors and we were a Jekyll and Hyde team last season, with some terrible performances in-between some great results, including Everton who we had never beaten, so with our front line completely revamped and our Captain gone, it will take some time for this team to find the character to bounce back, but we need a Captain to stir the emotions and get the team fired up.............
By which time, on current form will se us with 3 points out of a possible 27 and planted in the bottom 3.
And those great results/performances came either when Curt was in charge or Guido in hospital. We are getting the same piss poor displays this season as we did for 95% of the games Guido was on the touch line for.
I like the way manager wins are nothing to do with the manager when you want valley , and were everything to do with past managers . You have tunnel vision with your views at times with no sight of the big picture issues .
Here's a big picture - we were crap under Guido last season, we are crap under Guido this season. When Curtis was in charge we were winning and playing some decent football.
Roof, 9 of the side that started against Hull & Leicester started against West Ham at the end of the season. The differences were Siggi for Ki, and Llorente for Ayew. They are hardly strangers that need to gell We hope that you are right!
Get a grip man! Franco had plenty of wins to his name last season, and we finished with a good points tally considering how Monk left us, it just 3 games in!!..........
