so true, but Parades is 100% better than last season, did you see some of his moves? ahhahaahhaah TD9 doubled his total under the radar too, so that can only help confidence more.
Watford provided a tough test as we knew they would. We were no where near our best today, but thankfully we did just enough win a deserved 3 points. There are easily 3 worse teams in the league than Watford (Villa and Sunderland to start with) and don't expect you to go down Good luck chaps.
I hope that n all, love the back handed compliments! Hope Miami is treating you well, my Mrs works there and we jet over a bit, good place that like....
What did we learn from the game today? We did well until the first goal, but our heads dropped a bit after that. Our defence looked strong against one of the best attacks in the division. The front two can give their opposite numbers a difficult game. We have come a long way since this group of players were brought together and you can see that we do have the ability to create goal scoring chances. Do we have that magical player who creates or scores goals for fun? Probably not, but we do have a group who are prepared to work hard for each other. Where do we stand in terms of other teams in this league? Better than several, but not likely to worry the top teams in terms of points at the end of the season. This suggests to me that we are a middle of the table team, and we will win enough games to be certain of safety, but not enough to gain admission to the European cups. I would settle for that.
First season is merely about surviving - which I think you will do without any great discomfort. You coped better with our speed and relentless press approach than many of the sides we have come up against (and I wouldn't be too harsh on your guys for perhaps not being as creative against us as you might have been in other games - our strength is that we don't give opponents any time on the ball to be creative ) ... and your front pair look very handy and will score goals no doubt. I thought you were an impressive unit and look very capable of giving anyone in this league a game.
We had our chances but they seemed to be more dangerous - Gomes seemed to be caught in 2 minds for the goals. Nice pen from Troy..
Think you were very good today, both teams seemed a little off the boil in the first half, the game really only picked up after the mistake. Keep the form up and you could end up with us in mid-table at the end of the season, don't see you being the team that will join Villa and Sunderland after that performance
Two people saying Villa are set to go down, but what will Garde do for them? Not the most favourable of starts for him - City away then the break. I had to watch the Leicester penalty 3 times to be absolutely sure it was in the box, but decided the referee got it right - it may have been given as a free-kick outside the box if you were away at Man U or Arsenal.
Cheers ... will investigate.... the stream I had was very poor..... they seem to be making itm ore diff to watch!
Alright lads. I thought you played quite well yesterday up until the goal and then we stepped up a gear. As we found out last season this can be a very cruel league but overall I think along as a few other players learn to chip in with some goals alongside Ighalo then I think you will stay up. You was pretty solid at the back until Gomes messed up All the best for the season lads
Interesting how we all see somethings differently sometimes. I try not too let players past games influence my view on the day, and while I have not been convinced with Diamante in past appearances, I actually thought he played well when he came on. Equally, while Parades worried me a few times last season, I have thought he added something each time he has come on over past few games.
Both are rated highly enough by QSF who is clearly very good at what he does.... I think the problem may be how these players fit in a team. Both have appeared ragged in previous outings..... I like the flair they bring.. if it can be harnessed
You're not wrong GT. I saw a different game on Saturday to most of the reporters whose match reports I read. Once again, TheTimes pretty much saw it as I did. Even though Paredes won the pen, I didn't think either offered that much that was different.
