There’ll be retching in anticipation to spew out those stats that every man and his dog are quite possibly bored of by now!
The good thing is that now they talk about it as a prelude to how well we are playing....much better than a lead up to our demise.
Feels like I've been looking forward to this Leicester-Leeds double-header for ages. Two matches which promise goals, could go either way, and could have a big impact on our ultimate destination in this most fascinating of seasons. In fact, that arguably all applies to all four of our matches this month. Each one could be memorable. Just need to hope that we can field XI players.
True, I just think its lazy for the most part now though with many of the commentators. You could almost replace word for word what they say when mentioned. Just don't need to hear it anymore. That's just me though.
“He’s done a fantastic job here, though, hasn’t he, Ralph Hassenhüttl? When you look at where this club was a year/two years/ten years ago, when they lost ...” Insert the above into the commentary of any match in which Saints are involved. Also into the pre-match buildup and the post-match analysis. Repeat ad infinitum.
The freak result will never go away. It’s part of our history and even though I don’t like hearing it mentioned during games, it is normally followed by compliments. Even if we put 10 past them next weekend, it would still get mentioned as a counterweight, in future games, to show our improvement since that result.
It is indeed a freak result but when Arsenal play, you never hear of when Utd beat them 8-2 mentioned.
I have some inside info on Che Adams. He bought some chicken legs and a sausage roll this morning. Tip from a normally very reliable source. I don't know how many chicken legs but it was definitely just the one [one] sausage roll. I'll update later if I get news on the number of legs. Vin
What kind of sausage roll was it? Was it a baked one? I find most sausage rolls crap unless they're freshly baked.
Love it or hate it that score will come up time and time again. As has been said usually followed by compliments so I can live with it in most contexts.
I don't think you do because after that result, Sunderland continued to be crap, got relegated, twice, and are now a bit of a joke. The 9-0 gets mentioned so often because we actually improved after - I'd rather it that way!
