When a player is on a booking, they are aware they are walking a tight-rope and avoid doing anything that even the most pernickety ref might give. Kasper's not admitting it was a bookable offence, but he is suggesting that it might be in the eyes of a s*** ref.

Hes said that was he did was idiotic, but he was only expecting a yellow from disrupting the play, bad refereeing if you book someone while they arent even looking at you (for the first i mean).

I was totally bemused by the sending off when I first saw this. I am now simply staggered. That is one of the most ridiculous decisions I have ever seen.

I'm bamboozled at what was going through the ref's mind in all honesty, it seems more and more ridiculous every time I think of it. Also, you say that according to Kaspar he didn't actually know he'd been booked the first time - my question is why didn't the referee make sure he did? Imagine if referee's went round booking outfield players behind their backs during normal gametime, there'd be 10x as many red cards than there is now, it'd be a joke. And ultimately it cost you two deserved points.

    Anyway, back to the game.
I'm gonna say Connolly and Lambert for us.
With Nugent and Mills scoring for The Foxiessssss - An ex-skate and an ex-saint... It'd be just our luck <ok>

This a a very good thread - no WUMing (i.e. nar nar nar we gonna beat you 6 nil cos you are s***) just two sets of knowledgeable fans respecting each other.

That is the cue for some idiots from Forest/Leeds/Bristol to come and ruin this like they do for a lot of threads on our board.

BTW I predict a 1-0 to us - will be a tight attacking game but we will have made all of mistakes in the last few games and this game will the the start of a winning run.

    I hope!

Saints are already well into their season and most of our midfield and strike force are already off the mark. Two away wins out of two as well. The whole sqaud should be rested up from last Saturday as well.

Leicester have the pressure of expection upon them and have yet to pick up a home win having only scored one home league goal so far.

I think an early goal from Saints (which hasnt been uncommon this season so far) could make life very difficult for the Foxes on Saturday.

Saints to win 2 - 0 I think. Would like to see Guly get another one and Lallana as he should be super fired up given his short game on Saturday.

Southampton have had a magnificent start, but I think if we perform for 90 minutes like we did against Forest, then we will win. Can't see us not conceding though - 3-2 maybe?

Speaking of midfield, at the very least I want to see us win the midfield battle tomorrow. We've actually done that in every game bar the Coventry one so far - only sloppy errors have cost us at the back. We've definitely got a bit of 'bite' in there with Wellens, Fernandes and Danns. This should mean King doesn't need to do any of the physical stuf, he just needs to get into space and demand the ball, and do something with it. Whilst he always looks dangerous with the ball, he rarely has the guts to take someone on.

When I've been watching us I've been thinking we really shouldn't be conceding many, but then we've been suicidal and done something really stupid, or the ref has robbed us as was the case in a certain match we played recently....

It's just creatively where we lack IMO.

    Nobody knows.

I reckon the offer will be around 5m. Maybe including Waghorn.

Well it would be a record fee so it's over £5.5m.

    I've heard £6m but I've also heard £5m and Waghorn ;)

Thats a fair bit of cash. Bristol may aswell sell, better than getting nothing this time next year.

Yeh that's what we all think, but they've been spouting some bullshit all summer about him being happy there and they won't sell to a Championship Club and it would be a sideways move and such <whistle>

In fact someone off JA606 says '6.25m with add-ons rising to 6.75m is the general word on the street'.

If they don't accept that then it's cutting their nose off to spite their face.

In theory, but you've still got to convince them to come, and if they're worth less than £2-£3m in today's market then that probably means they're a bit of risk. I suppose the point is we are paying money for proven young talent in this division. Sven is never going to just take risks on unproven players when there's this much pressure on him.

We don't really need 4 or 5 players anyway, we need a striker and a winger, everywhere else we're over-staffed - Sven doesn't like wingers though so we'll have to settle with the striker ;)

EDIT: It's just occured to me you may have been talking about Bristol, in which case I agree, they desperately need 4 or 5 defenders <ok>
