Got back from the game earlier today (stayed over night).

Firstly, for 80 minutes our fans were outstanding and backed the team completely. We only turned when with around 7-8 minutes to go Williamson played a free kick on the halfway line back to Alnwick.

Leicester were terrible, easily the worst footballing team I've seen all season in terms of keeping the ball. Very direct and good from set plays. Also, as with most home crowds they were atrocious. Didn't here them once, apart from when they scored for about 60 seconds.

As for us, Tiote was pathetic and Williamson just as bad. We kept the ball well but it was just left to right and backwards repeatedly. Felt for Anita, he had a poor game but there was no movement in front of him and he too often tried to force a pass that wasn't there to be played.

In truth whoever scored first was always going to win this game. It should have been us as we scored the first legitimate goal by all accounts. We were the better team first half without creating much but we did keep the ball well. Leicester were the better team second half as we got gradually worse.

Once the fans had turned on about 85 minutes I didn't agree or join in with the "we"re **** and we're sick of it" chants and the booing of the players and staff when they came over to us was poor given the likes of Roberts, Satka, Armstrong, Vuckic, Alnwick etc were part of it. I mean it's not their fault.

Just have to hope Carver does't get the job. Disappointed McClaren appears to be out of the running but some interesting names have been thrown up today.

A final point on this from me - the Arsenal line up for their 3rd round match is as follows:

Ospina, Bellerin, Chambers, Mertesacker, Monreal, Coquelin, Rosicky, Cazorla, Walcott, Campbell, Sanchez.

It's all well and good putting a few changes in, but that side isn't an indication of Arsenal's squad strength as it's more or less a first eleven - it's a team picked to win a match.

Just thought of another reason why we fielded a very poor team, We all know that Ashley doesn't like cup matches, and as we are usually drawn away he doesn't want to waste money on travel and hotel costs.

That wouldn't get him the job though. Doing what he was told will enhance his chances, and he did so.
