Afraid not LOL Just going by stats We have played 69 games away to Leicester Leicester have beaten us when playing at home 30 times We have drawn away at Leicester 21 times And we have won the away fixture 18 times However at this stage of the season I said we would have 9 points (actually 12 points but we had two games postponed, so we are still on track with my prediction guesses. My estimated guess for the world cup break was 19 points (now downgraded to 16 points due to the postponed games), with us getting a point away to Leicester, so take whatever small hope of comfort you can from that No idea what odds the bookies are offering, but if you can get better than 4/1 for an away win, it may be worth a pound bet Seems most bookies are offering approx 2/1 for an away win, so I'd keep your money in your pocket. Odds for a draw at 21/8 seems reasonable value My predictions made on 6th August for games up to World cup break. Points in blue show the actual accumulative total we obtained Wolves (H) - Draw - 1 Point 3 points Southampton (A) Draw - 2 Points 4 points Chelsea (H) Defeat - 2 Points 7 points Brighton (A) Draw ? - 3 Points 7 points Everton (H) Win - 6 Points 8 points Brentford (A) Draw ? - 7 Points 8 points Notts Forest (H) Win - 10 Points Scum (A) Defeat - 10 Points A Villa (H) - Draw - 8 Points 9 points C Palace (A) Draw - 9 Points 9 points Arsenal (H) Defeat - 9 Points 9 points Leicester (A) Draw- 10 Points Fulham (H) Win - 13 Points Liverpool (A) Defeat - 13 Points Bournemouth (H) Win - 16 Points Spurs (A) Defeat - 16 Points
If Firpo has a solid game, say 6/10 he will have done well and any more than that is a bonus for a player coming back after a lengthy injury. Just be realistic in your expectations that's all.
If his inevitable mistakes don't cost us a goal and he doesn't go off injured or to a red card then it will be up there as one of his most accomplished performances in a Leeds shirt.
Firpo unfortunately started badly when he first came here in the pre season and frankly hasn't done it to date. There isn't a lot of sentiment in football and I just feel he could be a liability.
Im one of very few who thought he was decent in last couple of games last season. Could be a memory thing with me and he probably wasn't playing
Firpo did improve actually. The bar was set pretty low though it has to be said. Actually think he's decent going forward. He was just a disaster defensively. Bielsa's man marking wasn't for everyone - hopefully under a more trad back 4 he'll cope better. JM did say in the presser Firpo needs to be more aggressive defensively. What price is a red card for firpo? Asking for a friend.
All joking aside I hope Firpo starts playing out of his skin, but I just can't see that happening. In fact I've been very impressed with Struuk and he's playing out of position.
Before this turns into the politics thread, lets bore everyone with some numbers. Based on Premier League appearances for this season and last season only: Luke Ayling (RB) - Played 29 - Won 17% - Draw 28% - Lost 55% Junior Firpo (LB) - Played 25 - Won 16% - Draw 24% - Lost 60% Diego Llorente (CH) - Played 34 - Won 29% - Draw 32% - Lost 38% Liam Cooper (CH) - Played 24 - Won 21% - Draw 46% - Lost 33% Anyone else at Left Back - Played 28 - Won 25% - Draw 29% - Lost 46% Just going on the above % if everything else remained equal, then playing someone other than Firpo at Left Back would equate to us having got an extra 7 points over 53 game. Of course the same may be true if we had someone instead of Luke on the pitch, as the stats for both players are very similar, although Luke does have some leeway due to previous season performances
