Would agree if this fixture wasnt 3 days after we played the 4th place team away from home and we weren’t playing the third place team in a Yorkshire derby in 3 days time. TC has been set a target by the chairman and that’s to finish better than last year, so in the play offs. That’s the main target and tonight is just an interesting diversion and a chance to see what other players can do in a proper competitive match. But if we win tonight and finish 7th he’s sacked and if we lose this and finish in 6th then no one will remember/care
Personally I’m taking a big positive from the fact that we have a squad where by we can put out a 2nd eleven who can give a premier league team (admittedly mostly a 2nd team) a game. Not where I ultimately want to be but better than we’ve been for years.
