Just to establish, I have no hate for a certain person, I just think he was a crap manager, he has now moved on and so have I..
To think someone is a crap manager is interesting.. His job was to put eleven players on the pitch to compete in the championship.. which he did for 4 seasons, more successfully then any manager since AD without any fear of relegation… With a couple of seasons challenging for playoff position.. so that’s crap
It's a funny old world, made up of many opinions, your are entitled to yours, I am entitled to mine, I'm not taking the bait, he failed, was well backed and paid off well, he was sacked and moved on by SL I genuinely hope he gets a promotion at his 6th attempt, meanwhile I also hope Bristol City beat Stoke and we can all celebrate together.
Tbf I thought Junior would make a decent manager, just not at City because of.........we all know why. When he played you could see he knew what to do, quick free kicks, ordering others etc his mind was always alert. The problem for the poor sod he wasnt able to do what his brain told him. Physically challenged doesn't come close. He was small, slow and weak. His record of sackings in management is not of a lack of football knowledge. He's a not very nice person, small man syndrome - whatever, his man management is the reason he gets sacked. Initially players give him a 'try' but very soon his character comes through, basically he's a clever little obnoxious chappy. Sure 1For agrees with every word.
Some of that I agree with... I don't really know him as a person, you could well be right about having small man syndrome, maybe he has to, to get his point across or to stand up for himself to the odd death threat etc !! As a player, he did have a brain and knew how to thread a ball into space, very creative and as you say very alert.....something I believe we lack a bit in the current squad. I agree his build, physically lacked, his tackling wasn't great, I don't agree he was slow, but imo didn't need to be, put there as a play maker.. I personally see him as a decent manager, but one that needs the right players......I'm not convinced he ever had that and when it was close he had them taken away and replaced with inferior ones.. I believe he has the brains to be a good manager, not sure he will ever have a set of players to prove it.. I understand that the likes of You, Wiz and a few others can't stand the guy and that's your prerogative......but that doesn't make him a crap manager. IMO, regardless of whom he is and how he got there.........he was a decent player and manager for us, making us a stable championship side, when others over the years failed miserably.. I actually agree with most of this. The only bit I don't agree with (or disagree with for that matter) is about his personality; I have never met the bloke - or anyone who knows him personally. I also think that his Sunderland sacking was harsh - unless of course the 'not a nice person' bit is true.
I thought Tony Pulis was a crap manager manager for us but he went on to earn and succeed at many honours at other clubs, he has proved to be a far supeior manager at higer levels than LJ who has never achieved a promotion at any level, 2 crap managers with Bristol City, Pulis has proved himself beyond redemption, LJ has been sacked 3 times on the trot, crap management is his only consistency, yes he kept us as an average Championship side for 4 seasons and look how we ended up but that is just my opinion.
The task at Hibs wasn't even that difficult tbh They were never going to finish above Rangers or Celtic but they should have been doing better than the relative minnows of St Mirren, Livingston and St Johnstone On the plus side, Hibs are flying since he left. Two wins and a draw so far
Yes but there's Celtic and Rangers....the rest is a lottery......it would be seen as a stop gap (holiday) for any player or manager
Pulis got lucky with Stoke but then gained experience in the Prem.... was always renowned for sh!t football and then his luck ran out.. My opinion and as you say it's all about opinions, with the right players LJ would play a good style of football which I believe was beyond Pulis

A better manager with the support given to LJ could have got us promoted in the years LJ was in charge.Whether a better manager would have been interested in us is a whole different debate. If LJ had only had the level of support Nige is getting now, we’d have been relegated.

In the Scottish Prem, a club the size of Hibs, at a minimum, along with Hearts, Aberdeen, and one of the Dundee clubs (take your pick) should be aiming for a top 4 finish at the very least. They expect to lose home and away to the big 2 teams at least twice over during the season given how few teams there are in each league, but the aim would be to beat your nearest rivals while continually beating the lesser teams to achieve that, plus having decent runs in the cups and qualifying for Europe. But probably easier said than done I'll grant you.
